Day 3 Pick: Li Na
Day 3 Jankovic
Petrova is a head case. Not always consistent. Just like Cibulkova.
Sorry to see the mass exodus. Praying I make it into the second week.
I like the philosophy of the WTA SDL for grand slam events: "Try and make it to the second week"
other than losing yesterday, they are very talented
at least you are not alone now
that was quick. :|
look at the "bright" side Jay, you have half the work from now on here
wow with the women you're better off drawing a name out of a hat outside of the Top 4-5 players. Good grief
Day 3: D Cibulkova
Day 3: Jelena Jankovic
Day 3 Cirstea
TXdad, you've used Cibulkova already for day 1. Please ensure that you make another pick.
Day 3: Jankovic
Day 3: Makarova
Day 3: Ivanovic
crap JUST read rule #3....and I already used Venus and Serena :'(
Day 3: Bartoli
Bah...out of both tournaments.
I have an idea
Maybe, just maybe, since so many are out after only 1st round (2 days=1st round), we can start consolation round starting with the second round. Granted that considering results so far, this would not last long again
Points will count at say 1/2 value or so
Sudden Death League. Not Sudden Limping.
We'll all cope with our mistakes and reconvene for Indian Wells.
It is nice to have less names to enter now...
it was just an idea, besides, consolation is common in many sports and on this pace you may not have any names to enter after R2
That's my goal, not to win the tournament, but just to make it to like the 4th round, Qtr Final stage.
Adjusted Day 3 pick: S Stosur
Well we all choose our own strategies. If a player chooses to pick all the top 4 early on and then has no one left later on that is their choice. If you take a chance on someone else and they lose...well that to is the nature of the game.
As for consolation..well I am not sure it is a good idea. Would it be open for instance to a person eliminated at the QF stage as well as to those eliminated in round 1? If it is only open to people eliminated before a certain point than it becomes possible for a person technically eliminated early on to earn more points than people who actually made in further.
Given the nature of the WTA and so many people exiting early all the points balance out. I honestly like the WTA game because its fun to laugh at myself and the total unpredictability of the tour.
If I lose early I do. Safarova killed me at Wimby last year...its just how it goes.
Vanhool and tennis addict missing picks.
True. WTA is so unpredictable.
Day 3: Ivanovic
Sorry for the delay. Long day at work!
Zheng v. Stosur could be interesting.
Day 4: Stephens
Day 4 Pick: Caroline Wozniacki
Day 4 Wickmayer
Day 4 - Wickmayer
no consolation please. Let the chips fall, the WTA is a total crapshoot right now, outside of the Big 3-4 (Azarenka, Serena, Sharapova)
Separate names with a comma.
