Maybe, just maybe, since so many are out after only 1st round (2 days=1st round), we can start consolation round starting with the second round. Granted that considering results so far, this would not last long again

it was just an idea, besides, consolation is common in many sports and on this pace you may not have any names to enter after R2
Well we all choose our own strategies. If a player chooses to pick all the top 4 early on and then has no one left later on that is their choice. If you take a chance on someone else and they lose...well that to is the nature of the game.
As for consolation..well I am not sure it is a good idea. Would it be open for instance to a person eliminated at the QF stage as well as to those eliminated in round 1? If it is only open to people eliminated before a certain point than it becomes possible for a person technically eliminated early on to earn more points than people who actually made in further.
Given the nature of the WTA and so many people exiting early all the points balance out. I honestly like the WTA game because its fun to laugh at myself and the total unpredictability of the tour.
If I lose early I do. Safarova killed me at Wimby last year...its just how it goes.
