That's possible yeah. If we look at the Speed 360s the design of the MP has had the biggest updated redesign since the 1st gen Graphene models. So with Instinct sales flatlining, Head really need a fresh approach to reignite the Instinct. I've felt for years Head should merge the Extreme and Instinct's into a entirely new line/name. It would be Heads Power Tweener line of racquets. As it is now with the Extreme/Instinct there is way to much customer confusion as to any difference between the 2. It often comes down to the color preference. Head need to simplify there range.

Head has spent the last 15 years to come up with an answer for the Pure Drive. It's time to come to the difficult realization that ain't happening.

They nailed it with the IG Extreme Pro 2.0. Really good frame. It had the power of the PD but with a nice plush feel and didn't murder your arm. Before it had a chance to become popular they replaced with the Graphene which was a POS.

I loved the RA on the Graphene Touch Extreme MP. It was soft yet with a nice blend of easy power. This is what the Babolat PA shohld’ve been imo.

A new Instinct and a new Extreme will both be launching in 2019. I think the specs are close to what they have been in the past. The colour scheme is the same as for the Speed only with the specific colour for each line (Instinct blue and Extreme yellow). There'll also be an Extreme Pro at 310grs.
I don't have pics to show but it's not hard to imagine.

Interesting actually, like Joha posted, there is a new Instinct and a new Extreme, have seen both already, both look like the speed except they're yellow/blue except for white like the speed

Why all the sudden for Head to relaunch the Extreme Pro again? Due to high demand? I mean they got rid of it in the GT line.

Biggest question for you guys is.... is this "new" extreme the same mold/string pattern as the current piece of rubbish touch extreme? With just a new PJ?

Or is it a return to the proper extremes with the old rounder head shape? Any pics anywhere?

I would have walked over my own grandmother (bless her soul) for a proper "touch" extreme with the classic round head shape and an RA of 64. Instead Head changed it badly to an unrecognisable mess that bears no resemblance to the extreme line and looks almost identical to the touch instinct. Which also happens to be an unrecognisable mess.

+1 I really enjoyed IG Extreme Pro 2.0; very stable, huge amount of spin and power. Just a bit heavier than the Pure Drives. Agreed that later models were nearly the same.

Even though I’ve moved to the new Head Speed Pro 360, I still have my IG Extremes.

I think what Babolat and Wilson have done nicely is develop a clear model identity that's easily recognizable and therefore easy to market. You see a Blade, you know its a Blade. You see Pure Drive, you know its a Pure Drive. You see a Head Racket and it can be hard to identify it since they change color and paint schemes so often.

Blade - Green, Prostaff - Red, Ultra - Blue, Burn - Orange
Pure Drive - Blue, Pure Aero - Yellow, Pure Strike - White

And of course not having a million different models helps too. If you spread 3 models amongst 200 people vs 6 models amongst 200 people, it's going to look a lot more like the Babolat models are more popular. People will see all these Pure Drives and say, "hey, thats a real popular racket, I should get one."

It's one of the reasons Apple was able to make a huge turnaround. They totally simplified their product line and made it look like certain models were very popular.

Head easily could simplify things to the Prestige, Radical and Speed lines and probably be better off in terms of marketing potential. Make the Prestige your Prostaff/Pure Strike equivalent, the Radical becomes the Blade/Ultra equivalent, the Speed becomes the Pure Aero/ Pure Drive /Burn equivalent. Just offer variety within those model groups.

I couldn't identify whether it was the old and round head shape or not. Sadly I couldn't take pictures either but it's in the Head catalogue for 2019 so maybe someone else has the opportunity to take some pictures.
Since they've also brought back the Extreme Pro I'm hoping they return to the round head shape too.

P.S. I also loved the IG 2.0 Extreme Pro with a leather grip and some lead;)

Ugh. Too much of the dominant color. They need black head guards and grommets to break it up a little. Just use those from the current gen, I guess.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately they have kept the new shape which is disappointing. They should just be merciful and kill the extremes or instincts off now that they are practically the same...... lucky we still have fleabay!

I know I am glad they are bringing the Extreme Pro back as I was a big fan of the Pro especially the IG Pro 2.0 as others have mentioned. I am not that excited though for the more open strong pattern as I tried the MP this past year and the ball trajectory was high.

Yes. If you look at the new Speed & Extreme line and now this Instinct, it’s clear that they are going to do that. I would guess the Prestige will be black though.

I've had a chance to hit with both the new Instinct and Extreme as the country club I work at has them already! Both very interesting to hit with.

Yeah I've hit with the new Extremes as well (MP and Lite) that we carry. MP strung with Lynx 17g @ 54, Lite with Velocity @ 54 as well. I used to use the Extreme line years ago and loved them, but then I feel like they kind of went backwards.

This new model hits with an incredible about of easy power/spin, with no noticeable shock. I've been impressed with our MP demo. Too bad the rep didn't give us a pro to mess with :)

it looks like a blue version of the extreme
agreed
both have a beefier frame style
also move oval shape head now
i have yet to hit with either, but they seem to feel frame thick witch would add to the stability of the frame
hopefully the string pattern is not tooo open

String pattern on the previous instinct was pretty tight 16*19 so lets hope they keep that........ was pretty well the only difference between it and the extreme which had a very open 16*19 pattern. Ugh.

Any clue on the dates of the Radical 360? If they tone down the PJ, make it a 97, and make it a bit more flexible it could be a winner.

Just got the new Instinct MP in my hands. This paintjob has me weak in the knees. Stringing it up with Lynx 17/Velocity and hitting the courts within the next couple of days. Will post feedback here.
