Go away troll. Grats to Fed. I see him extending this run for a while.

You're one to talk.

Semifinals were barely special... nobody remembers these silly stats. Where will it stop? 4th round? 3 round?

Get a life... you and the OP.

We should start counting consecutive trainer calls from tournament to tournament. Maybe consecutive time violations. The sky's the limit, me thinks.

Well it's 25 QF now.
At French his 23 Semi was broken but QF went to 24. Now to 25.

Now as regards the significance of 23 consecutive semis, even Rafa understands how big it is. Here's from his interview

---------------------------------
Q. Which one of his records do you think is his most impressive?

RAFAEL NADAL: Every one. Every one is amazing. If I have to say something, 23 semifinals in a row of Grand Slam.

Q. Why?

RAFAEL NADAL: Because is five years, almost six years, playing all four Grand Slams. You can have no one injury, no one bad day, so is amazing. That's my feeling, no? So 23 semifinals in a row, in my opinion, impossible to do it another time.
-----------------------------------

23 semifinals may not sound huge. But consider the period, from 2004 Wimbledon to 2010 AO , nearly 6 years every slam. It's amazing consistency.

This ******* stats exercise started with finals. When the goat decided to lose them, his disciples switched to semifinals. Now its the matter of quarter finals. Hopefully next year we'll start counting rounds won, like "vow, Roger has won his Round 1 match, and it's been his 9999 Round 1 match, unbelievable".

25 quarters - Shows that he has managed to make it to the second week of a grandslam 25 straight times. Well done Roger! :)

^^ You worded it best. I suppose it's the equivalent of making 'the cut' 25 times in a row in golf - being there for the 'weekend'.

I will never get why people need to bring the negative to threads like this.

The semifinal record of Federer was one of the most talked-about records on the tour. Commentators and analysts always referred to it to show Federer's dominance on the tour.

Though obviously quarterfinals etc are silly to count for records.

Yeah, but I doubt they'll ever start counting "number of failure to defend titles".... :)

If Federer wins 9999 1st round Slam matches that will indeed be "unbelievable"!

In fact, that will be a record that will NEVER EVER be broken. The 16 Slam titles, the 23 consecutive Slam semis, the 11 hour 70-68 marathon match, the 113 aces, etc. - ALL of those records will be obliterated well before someone will win 10,000 1st round Slam matches. :)

Funny how Bud considers the semi-final streak nothing special yet his idol Nadal said it is one the most amazing records in tennis history. Just shows you how foolish some *********s are.

That is indeed true.

Nadal has way, way more class than most of his 'over the top' fans on here, ditto for Federer.
