At French his 23 Semi was broken but QF went to 24. Now to 25.

Now as regards the significance of 23 consecutive semis, even Rafa understands how big it is. Here's from his interview

23 semifinals may not sound huge. But consider the period, from 2004 Wimbledon to 2010 AO , nearly 6 years every slam. It's amazing consistency.

The semifinal record of Federer was one of the most talked-about records on the tour. Commentators and analysts always referred to it to show Federer's dominance on the tour.

Though obviously quarterfinals etc are silly to count for records.

If Federer wins 9999 1st round Slam matches that will indeed be "unbelievable"! :shock:

In fact, that will be a record that will NEVER EVER be broken. The 16 Slam titles, the 23 consecutive Slam semis, the 11 hour 70-68 marathon match, the 113 aces, etc. - ALL of those records will be obliterated well before someone will win 10,000 1st round Slam matches.
