I cant defend nike anymore, this is an utter disgrace
so you let you top pros (CA, rune, fritz, etc) wear the vapor pro 1 in a stock white colorway for an entire year, then you let CA have a player edition for the USO that consumers cant buy, now were making a hybrid vapor pro 1 / vapor 11 so that you can market the v11 as something he uses? LOL to put it bluntly, nike can **** off
I'll have to brace myself for a transition away from Nike shoes (been wearing them my entire tennis career of 20+ years) in the next few years. At least Asics and Adidas pros wear the shoes that consumers can buy................................
I'm with you on this 100%. I have a history with Lotto shoes from having grown up playing soccer, so it was natural to give them (and Diadora) a chance when I started playing tennis. Both are great, and particularly Lotto feel perfect in terms of performance, comfort and durability. Quality is absolute on par with top brands, if not better. That their retail shoes can be seen on so many top players (not TOP, top, like Alcaraz) but highly ranked pros that can play and move way better than I can ever dream of, is just the icing on the cake. I see MY shoes out there doing amazing things, and so at least I know that they aren't the problem. (Yes, I already knew that, but you get the idea).
Joma is another brand that has their pros wearing the retail shoes. I've tried their stuff because the prices tend to be very good, and while the quality is perhaps a half notch below the top brands, it's good enough for some pros and good enough for me.
Getting back to Alcaraz, the guy seems like the perfect marketing machine. He's not my favorite player, but the way he hits and moves is just perfect for selling racquets and shoes. And while even clueless people probably realize that buying his racquet will not buy the shots he can make with it, I do think plenty of people want to wear the actual shoes that allow for such amazing "gets" on a consistent basis. That Nike can't give them to people is really disappointing, and it's downright ridiculous to charge as much as they do for imitations.
Kinda wild man - feels like socks have got worse and worse over the years. My Nike multipliers shrink like crazy and don’t hold up at all. Total shame. Are you using an cotton poly blends or just cotton?
While far from perfect, I find Nike socks to be superior to Adidas is just about every way (and those seem to be the only two brands reliably available in the US). The Adidas stuff starts to wear thing almost immediately, and only really fits well on the very first wearing
