Andy Roddick

I just saw match highlights from the 2003 TMS Toronto, yes you guessed it, Andy Roddick def. Roger Federer. Holy crap was Roddick amazing in that match. He matched Federer stroke for stroke, and often outmatched him. He was right on top of the baseline for most of the match (or at least more on top of it than he is now), was moving exceptionally well, and was overall, playing incredible tennis. When is he going to get back to that?

And is it just me, or does it seem like Roddick's serve has been hovering at a RELATIVELY slower pace, around 130 or so, for most of the year?

Were you watching the highlights clip that showed nothing but the points Roddick won? A little biased, methinks.

Roddick won that match because he really took it to Federer. Federer wasn't playing extremely well and he didn't have the overwhelming confidence that he has now, but Roddick attacked and attacked in that match and was able to take down a sub-par Federer.

Ain't happening again anytime soon.

It won't happen ever again. Federers game has stepped up to higher levels in these past years due to the depth of mens tennis.

Andy Roddick hasn't gotten worse, he's actually gotten better. His game is still very good and effective. But a lot of other players have gotten better -- far better than Andy Roddick.

Next you'll be claiming that Roddick's win over Federer was also biased.

.... and afterwards Roddick wasn't playing extremely well and he didn't have the overwhelming confidence that he had before, and so Federer keeps on beating and beating him.

Enough of this Ego.
