A bit different than when Delpo won USO 09 because he was younger and you felt that he could be the next force. Woke up late, got on from the begining of the 3rd. First thing I did I squinted very hard to see whether I was seeing the score wrong from my bed.

Nadal was clearly not fit. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of BS about him faking it but really, have you ever seen him in that mood? Even then Stan sort of tried to lose. Must have been very hard though and from what I read around seems he played an amazing first set, and kept his composure in the 4th.

Unexpected but hey that's sports for you. Nadal should be back.

I remember when I first started following Wawrinka back in 2008. I remember him always doing average in grand slams but never quite making the breakthrough. Eventually I pretty much gave up my hopes that he would ever win a grand slam. Heck, I was really excited just to see him make the semifinals in last year's U.S. Open. I wanted Stan to win today, but I thought the odds were almost non-existent for him to beat Nadal. Well am I that my hopes finally came true, he really deserves the trophy after all this time. Congrats Stan, what a class act.

If Nadal had stopped play and called an MTO immediately I don't think the crowd would have booed. If he had waited until his next service game, I still don't think the crowd would have booed. The crowd booed because he waited until Stan's service game. That's just not how it should go down and like it's been said, Australians know their tennis. nadal is full ******. he basically handed the match to stan in the last game. Hey rafa...you need to make him come up with the goods to win the match.

Nadal is a complete self centered jerk. hey rafa....you dont cry when you lose and you sure as hell dont cry when its your opponents first major win after he has never beaten you or even taken a set off you before. Its his time and let him have it.

Its always nice to see a new slam winner but this match was difficult to watch due to lunacy from both players. this was more like some twisted form of reality tv than it was a major final.
