Are any Federer fans worried about Raonic?

Yes I know last year federer took him to 5 sets on one leg, but he's still dangerous, and I would go on the rampage if he won federer , AGAIN

I wouldn't be worried you guys, the only guys who can take him out are Djokovic in the semi's and Cilic in the final. Even those two need to put on a world class performance to do so and even that might not be enough if Rog is at his very best. Rog would need to play really poorly to lose to anyone else. For me Rog is 45/55 likely to win the title, not odds on but the clear favorite

i'm always worried lol. i think he will do it, but always a little bit of doubt in the back of my mind. injured or not, raonic knows how to beat fed has done it a few times, once on this surface last year. so...not taking anything for granted.

asked this in the match thread, but did anyone actually see what happened with zverev/raonic? i just want to get an idea of raonic's play going into the fed match.

I'm no more concerned than I would usually be for a quarter final. Unusually confident that Fed's got this! But a huge part of that could be because I expect Djokovic to knock him out in the semis! Look at it this way, if he doesn't play well enough to beat current Milos, he isn't beating any version of Djokovic.

Not totally at ease. Looking forward to that semi; that's for sure! So odd to me how players can be totally off their games elsewhere... downward spiral... a couple of big wins timed just right, and they're newsworthy again. Thinking more than just Rao, here...

fed will streamroll, 2016 was injury fed.......Come on raonic really ? the biggest mug? we shouldn't been having this discussion really..

Less concerned than I was last year. Roger looked in much better form against a sub-par Dimitrov than his previous matches this tournament, and he's also fully fit this time around. We all of course recall his recent dismantling of Zverev on grass, who had Raonic on the ropes yesterday and broke his serve several times.

Whilst I expect Federer to win (hopefully without expending too much energy), I wouldn't be surprised if Raonic ruins my week again like he did last year.

All i know is that for Raonic to win this he has to put up a far better performance than his last slam quaterfinal. Lols, i still remember those backhands.
Fed getting tight at key moments would help.

Lmao, Death Note. You saying Nadal fans are bringing Federer's demise into being with their writing? I knew it!

That. Raonic has a horrible backhand. Not Sock horrible but pretty damn close.

Definitely worried, His serves are unplayable when it is on a roll. Fed needs to hold his own and pressure can get to fed at tight situations

I'm extremely worried about Raonic

the poor chap has been hauling himself in futility from major to major with his deficient return game, for his entire career. I fear he may never win one and go down in history as a VIP member of the lost generation...

Just a little - I actually think the biggest threats to Fed in order are Cilic, Djok, Raonic, Murray, then the rest. So I'm actually a little more concerned about Raonic tomorrow than I would be about Murray in the final.

In any case, tiebreak-heavy matches always make me nervous, so I hope that Fed can get some early breaks tomorrow.

My thoughts are that Raonic is going to provide a LOT more resistance than Dimitrov did.

My biggest concern is that Fed doesn't have much match play yet.

The Dog only gave him a set and a bit
Laovic wasn't good enough to test Roger
M.Zverev is like playing Llodra so Fed didn't hit many balls
Dmitrov rolled over completely. DFing like 7 times etc.,

So Raonic is BIG step up. I kind of wish Fed had played a big server like Isner and a good ball striker like Ferrer so that he had some rhythm up until now.

But the truth is Fed hasn't gotten much rhythm.

He's going to need to figure it out, get his timing, during the Raonic match. That's my main concern.

Providing Fed is confident enough on serve to hold with ease, he'll eventually generate chances. I think he'll **** away a good number of these, but in time I think he'll get his poop in a group and see Milos off.

Somehow I think he won't drop a set, but I think it could be like 7-6, 7-6, 7-5.

I will say Fed is focused and determined and trying to stay dialed in on each and every point. That is a + for Federer.

In what world do you come up with this conclusion? Really? Djokovic? The guy who can't beat scrubs all year. He's had an easy draw so far. Name me one tough opponent he's beaten. Federer will own Djokovic.

Why don't you ask Federer or Sampras where the competition is greater, grass or clay? His results speak for themselves.

"On clay you don't need to have a volley," Federer says. "You almost don't need to have a serve. All you need to have is legs, an incredible forehand and backhand and to run things down. I'm not trying to take anything away from Rafa, because he's an exception and he did everything on other surfaces as well, but I think you can get away with having problems with your game on clay more than you can on other surfaces."

"On clay, I don't want to say it's too simple, that you just have to keep the ball in court and wait for a mistake, but sometimes it's too easy."

No, it's because competition is strong on grass.

I don't think so, and I think most tennis fans will agree that Rafa is at RG has suprassed Rog at WIM. It is tougher to compare a lot outside the two slams as grass is denied a Master or two which it shouldn't, also I think for the players beating Rafa at his chatrier is a more impossible challenge than Rog at CC. Anyway both obviously Kings of their slams, just that 10 beats 7, it still would beat it even if it became 8 :)

A little bit biased from Federer, tbh. You could say that on grass, one can cover a weak ground game with a great serve and volley. It cuts both ways.

Point taken, but Raonic doesn't play afraid of anyone.

Not now maybe, but he did earlier in his career. He rarely showed up in big matches. Now he's hit and miss at best. He played well against Murray at AO 2015 and Federer at Wimbledon 2016 for example, but the way he, quite frankly, choked (and I don't like to use that word) away the second set against Nadal in Australia was disappointing. So he's not completely over the hump yet.

That sounds like someone who is trying to find excuses. lol Tell that to Murray or Hewitt, they are the fastest and fittest players on tour and certainly know how to put the ball in play waiting for the opponents mistakes yet they never won the FO. Stop with the nonsense. If it's too simple and too easy, he should have won it more.

I'm not too worried but Rog should take this match very seriously. Raonic, despite his typical feeblemindedness against the Big 4, just came from behind to beat Zverev. Zverev is obviously not Big 4, but the win should help Raonic stay focused even if he falls behind against Fed. It's going to be more competitive than the Fed-Dimitrov match, I'll tell you that.
