Federer is injured
Nadal looks like skipping it
Djokovic is prolly playing, but take he don't.

The winner will probably be Berrettini, but who is favourite?

how you so certin that nadal will be playing 2020 us open ?

Nadal never even said he was going to be in the Us Open
No he is waiting till the last second to announce. No reason to announce before then. Plus, he said no big 3. Djoker is 100% playing.

So how do you know that?
You're not some Nadal coach, you're just a tennis site member.
I haven't seen Nadal practicing hardcourt in a month

He is better at the USO and has proven it. Also feel as if he has been mentally more ready the Djoker, and I feel like Rafa can only lose to Djoker while Djoker can lose to a few different people in my opinion.
No chance, Rafa's days of beating Novak on Hard is unfortunately over, he would need to have someone beat Djoker,. Who would that be? Thiem, and then Thiem would rickroll Nadal.

It's pretty obvious Djokovic and Nadal are going to play at the US Open. Zero chance they don't go (unless obviously if the tourney gets cancelled)

Thiem would be the favorite. More consistent at slams than the others, and has shown improved pedigree on hardcourts with his Australian Open final appearance.

Plus, he's more match-fit than anyone else on tour righy now thanks to his ridiculous exhibition schedule.

and the Grand Slam entry should be finished four weeks ago.
I saw on Twitter that the open entry was made on August 3rd

Stan the Man will win to keep the world in order. And in the process we can reinvigorate our Big3/Big4/Big5 debate like it's 2016 again.

Big 5 have won 21 straight majors. 40 of the last 41. 62 of the last 67.

I don't think the USO cares whether it's a slam without European participation anymore, and with a two week re-entry quarantine, that's what it will be.

They just want some income rolling in and people may just be grateful to have any sort of tennis.

Nadal on hard is kinda done. The ATP Cup showed it (Goffin match), maybe Nadal can win another UO, but he would need easier draw than 2017.
Huh? He won the last USO, and last time I checked that is hard court and happens to be the same surface this year.

Plus I thought Rafa went undefeated at ATP cup and Davis Cup which was on HC?

He, went from a 2-0, break up - to 2-2, 0-1, 15-40. Nadal won't lose in Spain's color unless it was because he is done, he has also begun choking, Nadal in AO, going from a set point up, to 2 sets down. Nadal can't beat Djoko, Thiem, Federer, Zverev on HC,

He would crush Zverev, he won't see Fed, and will likely only see one of thiem or Djoker.

Will he be favored? Maybe not, but he has a great chance for sure. Personally I would take Rafa over Thiem in a final.

Then it would solely be Thiem choking.

(Friend, you know I'm just anti-jixing as much as I can )

I reaaaaaally hope Thiem wins more slams than Zverev and Tsitsipas...... sadly idk bc they will peak after the big 3 are done and he may have peaked while they were still hanging on.
Maybe Zverev and Tsitsipas will mature into likeable, well rounded tennis players and we'll look back at Thiem as the friendly but braindead ball basher who probably didn't deserve to win a bunch of slams.

What a future that would be!

Rafa is not better at USO than Novak...
4 vs 3 titles is just a tennis fluke that happens time to time... As Rafa having only 1 AO or Fed winning FO...

Rafa has beaten Novak in 2 US Open finals. Beating him in 2 finals isn't a fluke. On those particular courts, Nadal is clearly better. It's in their H2H at the tourmament, and the number of titles they have won at it.

Rafa won 2 USO playing great, and last two were just weak draws and no Novak in draw... Everyone who knows tennis knows that Novak is greater hard courter than Rafa... Novak was in 8 USO finals and won only 3,which is fluke too...
But that's ok, I like Rafa, flukes happen. As I said Rafa should of won more AOs...

The distribution of majors between the three you mention, plus Medvedev and also the younger FAA and Sinner is going to be fascinating.

Thiem is winning a minimum of four imo (2 USO + 2 RG). It's looking like an era with at least three different guys winning 4-5 majors each. As added intrigue, you've got quite a few of them who don't particularly like each other (Zverev / Tsitsipas, Med / Tsitsipas etc etc), but I suppose those hostilities will settle over time as they mature.

Going to be a lot to enjoy in the next decade or so.

You are acting like a deluded Federer fan. Try and be better than that.LOL!

These are not "flukes". Djokovic is really more the plexicushion GOAT than he is the hardcourt GOAT (though I have no problem with people claiming him as such). It's why he is so much tougher to beat in Australia than in the US. On decoturf (the US Open surface), he's not quite as effective. It slows his game down by a fraction, but that fraction is enough to make him more beatable than on other hardcourts. Decoturf is also the hardcourt variation that most helps Nadal's game, and that is why he is slightly better on it than Djokovic.

There are variations in hardcourts, and Djokovic is not the best on all of them. Yes, overall Djokovic is clearly a better hardcourt player than Nadal. Just not on those specific US Open hardcourts.

It's nothing to be ashamed about, for Nadal to be better at a particular hardcourt tournament. Nadal is at least a top 6 hardcourt player in the Open era.
