Istomin is a tricky opponent. Didn't he give Murray a pretty close 4 set match at USO? He very often plays under his capabilities, and that's why his ranking is low. But he is capable of troubling guys when he's on.

If Istomin comes out firing, Federer is in danger.

Federer should try to hit flatter, his strokes are too complex and wristy for his current level of footwork. That's why guys like Agassi and Haas are able to play well at an advanced age, they have very linear shots that don't require ultra precise footwork and preparation.
