Mods pls lock thread once match starts, but right now what are Bautista Agut's chances of winning Friday's semifinal vs Djokovic?

He has a decent chance. He’s got nothing to lose. Djokovic is defending his title. He’s also beaten Djokovic twice this year. I think if anyone’s gonna scalp Djokovic at a slam, it’d be him.

But then again, this is Djokovic we’re talking about. Guys peaking at the QF stage again. Just destroyed Goffin. Not to mention, he’s motivated. He’s hungry for that Fed/Nadal final waiting for him. RBA might be a frightening prospect, but Djokovic knows what to do.

RBA has had some success against Djokovic this year and is playing decently so I'll give him 10%. But make no mistake, Novak is the overwhelming favourite for the match and indeed the title as well. Poor Goffin didn't know what hit him

5%. Novak in a Major >>>>>>>> Novak anywhere else. He's 3-0 against RBA in Majors, 4-0 come Friday. Everyone has a chance in each match (injuries, etc.), but RBA's are minimal here.

I don't post here much.. but RBA is playing extremely well.. wouldn't be surprised if he beats Joker. And I like Novak. So does that mean around 40%? Whatever

He's the definition of "dangerous floater." Flat hitter, mentally strong, and has a record of giant-killing.

Never heard (or seen) this about him.

He has no record of beating the top players when it matters. Choked badly against Federer in Halle even.

He is only this deep in a major because the tier 2 players (Cilic, Raonic, etc.) who he would normally lose to are all garbage this year.

He’s certainly a big underdog. But you can’t deny that his style of play matches up really well against Djokovic. His accurate penetrating strokes are tough to counterpunch, and Djokovic’s strokes sit up right in his hitting zone. If he can have a good day on his first serve (his biggest weakness), he can pull off the upset.

He's usually good for a set, so what's that? 33% He ain't quite half way there, but he's for sure living on a prayer.

15%. A low chance... but still a chance.

Anderson made it into the final somehow last year... why not RBA?

Another 'no money wagered' guess.

This is Agut's first slam semi. This is also the first time that Agut made it to the R16 at Wimbledon. However, Agut is playing by far his best grass court tennis ever. He gave Khachanov and Paire some nice beatdowns. He also played Pella quite well.

OK, Agut. I'll give you some respect here. Djoker will need 4 sets to take you out.

I give 4% and that’s only due to Djoker feeling a bit sick. He wasn’t looking to well in that first set against Goffin

He has a small chance. Maybe 25% at most. As he’s beaten Djoko twice this year. However, this is a slam, best of 5 and also on centre court. Agut has never been here before, whereas this is just another day at office for Novak! Agut will feel the pressure more for sure! Novaks game is looking great too and he’s peaking at right time! I see Novak winning in 4 sets, maybe 3, if he’s really in the zone!
