My Roland garros 2020 Draw analysis.

Draw seems to be great for Djokovic, should really make the finals but still watch out for Tsitsipas if he can get his head in right state this is his stake to doing good as his draw seems fine to me although a tasty round 4 awaits with in form shapovalov apart from that he can surely make semis, Medvedev has a tough 1st round overall his chances look bleak to make qfs but if he does I give him low chances to overcome Tsitsipas/shapo
Now coming to the bottom half which is loaded, thiem has a tough draw although his talent on clay should help him overcome all but still he seems most likely to not reach final 4 of big 3 contenders.
Wawrinka vs Mirray to ve honest I had thought will happen once I saw murray placed to play a seed and I saw it will be 13-16 I knew it will be that.
Coming to king's draw it's fine and some matches with Nishi and fognini will get him into groove although he got the toughest qf opponent imo as zverev is good on clay and good in slams this year.
Overall it seems Djokovic vs Nadal final once more.
My prediction
Qfs
Djokovic- Bautista agut
Rublev- Tsitsipas
Thiem- Coric
Nadal- Herbert
Sf
Djokovic- Tsitsipas
Nadal- Thiem
Final
Djokovic- Nadal
Winner
Nadal

Can you imagine how disastrous it would be if Nadal was never given the opportunity of playing Djokovic ever again at Roland Garros?
Being forced to only play Djokovic at hardcourt slams would be completely unfair.
Playing at Wimbledon is ok, considering Djokovic needed 10-8 5th Set to beat Nadal at Wimbeldon 2018 with a closed roof, but they rarely meet there.
Nadal looking to improve to 10-6 vs. Djokovic at slams, unless Djokovic tanks in the semi again....

I'm trying to figure out who will take a set from Nadal.....
Thiem is the toughest opponent, but they've played THIRTEEN sets at Roland Garros and Thiem has only won ONE set.....and it was a very difficult 7-5 set.
Maybe Fognini if he's on fire can take a set.
Djokovic has the more difficult Semi-final, so if he doesn't want to face Nadal he'll be able to tank very easily unfortunately.

Nadal has a fine draw which will provide him good matchplay into the final rounds likes of nishikori, fognini and zverev will be good although not discounting there abilities but rafa at RG is a different beast which can be tamed only by Thiem/Djokovic

Fognini could upset Nadal.
Thiem will be the new king if he comes out on top from this draw.
Zverev could be a serious contender here.
Overall, this is a golden opportunity for Novak to complete his double career grand slam.

It is a very tough draw for THIS Nadal.

Medvedev-Djokovic SF will be a lot closer than a Nadal-Thiem SF.

I have a bad feeling about this tournament. Something tells me that neither Djokovic nor Nadal will be in the final.

Is that a bad or a good feeling?
Honestly I would love for someone else to step up their game and win it.
I don't think it will happen but we can certainly hope, can't we?

I'll have to pore over the draw some more.
As a fan of non-random numerical seeding (other than upsets, of course), as #1, Novak should draw #4 and Rafa as #2 should draw #3. On paper, I do think Novak has a fairly clear path to the semis.

From a quick look, Thiem's draw looks tricky, but ...we'll see what transpires.

Fog doesn't look to be in tip top shape, I doubt he's physically able to defeat Nadal in BO5 in his current condition.
I admit I haven't seen Fognini playing on clay this season, which is full of madness anyway.
I said that because he is not afraid of Nadal and his shot making can cause trouble.

That's not how it works. Number 3 could fall into either half. There is no real should to this.

It will be interesting to see if Nadal can go through Thiem and Djokovic back to back at age 34 with very few matches under his belt. Hopefully Thiem does not get upset early.

Fog lost to Humbert in Rome and Ruud in Hamburg. Looks very indifferent and out of form - which is just as good a sign as anything with the Fog!
He seems to be very motivated when he plays Rafa, for some reason :)

I know that it's a "coin flip", as are how 5-8 get seeded (etc), but my feeling has always been that they should do straight numerical pairings (though no reseedings after upsets). Think March Madness or any number of other team sports.
Any impressions overall on the draw?

But can either of them even take a set from Nadal?
Thiem has taken a total of ONE SET vs. Nadal in THIRTEEN attempts at Roland Garros.
Djokovic took a set from Nadal at Rome 2019 but Nadal won 60 46 61, and Nadal won their 2017 and 2018 clay meetings in straight sets.
There is a good chance Nadal will have enough stamina to beat these clowns in straight sets.

The draw is laughably favorable for him. Zverev should have been on his side to balance it somewhat. If you're Novak could you have designed this to be any better?
Djokovic tanked the 5th Set vs. Thiem at Roland Garros last year, and I don't think he'll want to play Nadal this year either.
He knows he can only beat 2015 Nadal at Roland Garros, and Nadal will lead their slam h2h 10-6 if they meet this year.
