Roger only really had a 'bad' game when he served for it at 5-3, other than that he played decent, great at times, especially the first set. Berdych is tough to handle when he gets hot, just goes hell for leather on almost everything so Roger did well to stick in there and weather the storm, that was definitely the best tennis ive seen Berdych play perhaps ever if not only on a couple of occassions.

As I already said in the match thread: Both Kyrgios and Zverev are massively overrated here during the past few days. For me Zverev is a lesser version of Berdych and Kyrgios is way too erratic and technically far worse than Roger (who is not?)
Don’t forget that Berdych played an extremely good match today. And don’t think one of the two “young guns” will top that level tomorrow.

I agree. I don't think he choked either; he went for his second serve on the last MP, a move that saved him a MP earlier in the set (120 mph down the T). Imo, it's not so just Roger's mental game that comes into action when he serves, it's more a question of his toss and technique which apparently is very, very hard to read.

Federer can go rogue, but he generally saves his worst performances for matches against players ranked 161.

I'm not sure that would be a bad thing.
I don't want him to lose to Nadal just before the clay-court season. Fed looks decent in Miami, but also tired and I don't know if he can handle Delpo, RBA, Berdych, Zverev/Kyrgios and Nadal (if he reaches the final) in one week.

Idk who he's a fan of in another post I said if Federer wants to do the unthinkable and win another major it will very likely be through Muzz/Djokovic and he wasn't having any of it. Maybe just a troll in general. Lord knows we've got plenty on the board.

Berdie was on at Auz too coming into their match and literally had no chance. Different surface, but Fed let Berdbrain into the match.
Berdych has had some fine years recently and had his career high ranking of 4 early in 2015. He's down a bit in the rankings right now because of appendicitis that caused him to miss some events including the US Open. Poor clay season last year after nice 2015, so maybe he'll find his clay game again this year, but I'm doubtful as its generally a younger players surface. He got a lucky draw at Wimbledon last year for the SF so he's in danger of dropping in the rankings all too soon if he doesn't produce on clay. Zverev and Kyrgios extremely likely to pass him by and with weakened clay field (except Nadal suddenly showing signs of life) Thiem is primed to pad his ranking for the year. A return to WTF for Berdy doubtful.
