I have been to both Cinncy and Indian Wells a number of times so I cannot comment on all of them.

Cinncy I found to be a nicer facility than Indian Wells and more things to do on the grounds for fans. Plus the atmosphere was more fun and younger.

Indian Wells as a city is 100 times nicer than Cinncy through.

I heard the Rome masters is very nice but I heard bad things about Madrid.

The Paris and China one do not have the same status as the other ones too.

Most beautiful Masters location? Definitely Monte Carlo. Best facility? I'm going to say Cincinnati.

I went to the Paris masters last year and was very underwhelmed. The stadium is really terrible, whole thing seems very shabby and was worse than many ATP events I've been to.

It was great in 2011!

Worst is Madrid, the best is Rome IMO. In terms of prestige IW is the best now. Up until a few years ago Miami shared that distinction.

Having never been to any, Shanghai, Paris and Madrid are all bad from my perspective. No crowds, no atmosphere, no history or prestige.

Best are Rome, Monte Carlo and IW.

What happened to Miami?

I was just there and it is a world-class tourist destination and beautiful facility. I don't know why I have heard negatives. Just because Indian Wells has made great strides forward doesn't mean that Miami has to be in the doghouse suddenly.

In terms of worst, I think many people lose interest once the post-USO Masters come around. I think they feel anti-climactic.

My favorites are Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, and Rome, as they anticipate the summer slams.

Why not get rid of Paris indoors and turn Queens into a desperately needed Masters 1000 on grass?

The ones I like least are Madrid and Paris-Bercy:

Madrid: Ugly, harsh, metallic looking stadium.

Paris-Bercy: Surprisingly drab (for Paris) stadium and surroundings.

I would say Indian Wells, Canada and Cincinnati are my favourites!

Miami has had a lot more high profile withdrawals in recent years. That hurts it's prestige IMO.

Just curious, why does Miami get such a bad rap? I've only ever been to Cincy (and plan to go to Canada next year) but I'm curious as to why there seems to be such a drastic difference between IW and Miami, aside from the Miami withdrawals in recent years.

- Smaller facility , with no possibility of expansion

- Players get spoiled with IW.

- 6 or 7 rounds in sweltering heat

- Players are ready to head home after Doha/Chennai, Sydney, AO, IW after a full 2 months

- Next tournament is on clay. So clay courters are ready to get off from here.

Been to Indian Wells(20 years ago), Miami every year, Madrid this yr.

Madrid the crowd is sparse. I actually like the facility. Can take the metro also.
Miami the whole facility is dated, parking is a nightmare unless have preferred pass.

Much prefer the Madrid facility, transportation options, and the food to the Miami event. Its either 90f or 45f for a night match in Miami in March. You don't know what you are going to get.

Madrid is the worst by far.
No it isn't.

Montreal the stadium is small and dated.

And I go to the Miami event 5 times a year. Traffic a nightmare. No public transportation. Unless you have preferred parking, have to park and take a shuttle bus. 1 permnant stadium. The food is awful. Its either 90f in daytime or 45 f at night.

Lucky you, I've been to zero ATP events.

Madrid is one of the worst. The bottom half of the entire stadium consists corporate VIP booths that are 90% empty until final. The weird walls/ceiling creates annoying shadows. Ridiculous event.

Couldn't agree more. Grass needs more exposure in the modern game and a Masters 1000 is defintiely needed on the surface.

Yep, Queens as a venue isn't big enough though. It feels more like a ATP250 at most.

But I'm all for another grass masters.

They should also make Stockholm Open ATP500. It's got the most beautiful indoor venue and lots of history!
