Congrats to Bianca for her comback match at Roland Garros! Although she wasn't extremely pleased with her form (some errors, erratic toss etc), I for one liked the way she played, showing her usual qualities:
- Agressive
- Angles/changing the direction of the balls/ painting the lines
- Power
- Finesse (including drop shots)

PARIS — Canadian Bianca Andreescu's return from a two-month injury absence was a short one.
Andreescu withdrew from the French Open on Wednesday ahead of her second-round match against Sofia Kenin due to a recurring right shoulder injury.
"Tough moment for me but after discussing with my coaches, team and doctors, it was the safest decision to make after the shoulder pain I felt during the match," Andreescu tweeted. "I will now rest and prepare for the upcoming grass court season."
Andreescu did not express concern about her shoulder after completing a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 first-round win over Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic on Tuesday. The No. 22 seed from Mississauga, Ont., did say she was "a little bit sore" but wasn't surprised given that she was off court for several weeks.
"All the nerves are kicking in again," Andreescu said after her victory. "But I got treatment and I'm feeling really (good), actually, considering. Shoulder, it's really good and I'm really pleased. Just got to keep getting treatment and I'll be good."
It was her first match since she retired from her fourth-round match at the Miami Open on March 25 with a right shoulder injury. At the time, the 18-year-old was coming off her breakthrough title at Indian Wells.
Andreescu was the last remaining Canadian in singles play after Eugenie Bouchard of Westmount, Que., dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to No. 27 seed Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine on Tuesday.
Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., a No. 20 seed, lost his opening match to Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff on Monday. Canada's Milos Raonic (knee) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (hip abductor) pulled out of the tournament due to injury.
Kenin, a 35th-ranked American, gets a walkover into the third round and will next face either American Serena Williams or Japanese qualifier Karumi Nara. Andreescu also pulled out of the women's doubles competition with partner Fanny Stollar of Hungary.
Andreescu resumed on-court activities in early May after taking time off to let a small subscapularis muscle tear in her rotator cuff heal. She trained in Spain over the last few weeks and had declared herself pain-free ahead of the second Grand Slam of the tennis season.
Andreescu did not play a warm-up tournament ahead of Roland Garros, instead opting for an extra week of training.

She could miss Wimbledon. It's the same injury. There is is a small tear again. From what Sylvain Bruneau says, it's not as bad, but she has to take 10 to 15 days off now, and then she will slowly be able to hit balls again. She'll miss the two tournaments she had planned to play before Wimbledon.
I can understand wanting to complete the tournament in Indian Wells, but I wondered why she competed in Miami. Looks like she paid a high price for that decision.

The injury timeout to treat her leg could be considered a form of 'drama'.
We just don't know yet. Let's see what she does in the coming months/years.
The drama she displays on court now every match is real.
And quite frankly, the more I see of it the more it is starting to annoy me even, as a fan of hers.
I can now understand what Kerber was talking about.
At the time I thought it might be just sour grapes for her losses, but
now I see it is real and not very pleasant to have to witness.
Yes Andreescu is very emotional, and she makes no attempts to hide this.
But it is her attitude that is not very flattering.
It's like, "Here I am, this is my home, I'm expecting to win, and if I lose a point or things are not going
my way, I will fake smashing my racket on the ground, or into the net to show my displeasure
and everyone in the crowd will know exactly how disgusted I am, or was with my last shot.
I will bend over, take my time to catch my breath and everyone can watch me.
I will enter the court wearing headphones because it makes me look SO cool."
I like her game/talent a lot, but you want to know something?
I can do without all the DRAMA!

She's a teenager, and as with many of the teens on the ATP they're still very immature in A LOT of ways. Having a spotlight shone on your life at that age wouldn't be pretty for most people. I think you're nit-picking just a tad with the likes of the headphones. As for tonight's match, it's a tough one. Would be great to see her win this after her injury layoff, and the crowd would love it. Also want to see Serena win a title after so long.

I wish we could have seen a real match between them - not that the championship is totally without glory for Andreescu, who put in a sensational week of tennis.
The real match was yesterday against Kenin in the semis. Looking forward to seeing a rivalry as those two look to be like the future of the WTA. A great performance by Bianca, a star is born!
