Hi All.
I ran in to something i never saw before - Bridgestone racquets.
Bridgestone Amorphous carbon beam system advanced structure concept racquets. String pattern is 16 mains and 18 crosses. Surface area is 103 square inches. Tension is 50-60 lbs.
Here is the link to my picasa for photos:

Can anyone tell me anything about those? I mean Bridgestone??? Are those any good or what is the story.
Feel free to share here or email shtiblet@gmail.com

I'm under the impression that Bridgestone now focus solely on the Japanese market. Could be wrong though.

From what I know, these are sold in Japan, and some of them look quite good as far as the specs are concerned.

The following link should work, it is to a Japanese tennis shop. I actually bought a couple of rare Volkl's from them last year.

Thank you, i will have a look. Also, since we are talking here....I may be able to get my hands on couple of those....Do you think they will sell?

You can paste the web page into google translator, and it should do a pretty good job of translating.

According to the currency converter I just used, the racket above is $310.70 or so...and it's on sale.

Does this look like a PT 280/630 to anyone? I think there is some mold sharing (or selling) going on...

Maybe the PT is not dead after all...

Oh, that is on sale? I feel better now - regular price must be around $500 then? LMAO.

I was simply speaking of the specs and paintjob. I had not done a Dollar - Yen conversion. But from that stand point, no. It's not worth it.
Well, Japane is known for high prices on everything. But i would like to hit with those X- Blades jsut to see how they are.
So far i am happy with my Yonex RDS 001 MP. Not too many people like them for some reason. I hit very well with them.

All of a sudden I can see the pics now, don't know why.

Anyways, those are fairly old, I believe from 2008. The last iteration of those classic-styled frames (thinner and boxier) I think goes back to about 2012 or 2013. After that, the frames have been quite a bit more "modern", which is too bad in my mind. They're absurdly expensive new, but really cheap used. I quite like my 2008 X-Blade 3.25s, but they are definitely in the mushier side of things, RA about 57 strung.

@Pmasterfunk
i went back and changed the settings on the picture access, my bad.. haaa
but anyway, yeah it was a nice surprise
got to shadow swing it a bit after stringing, and they felt pretty solid on hand
soo many rackets, soo little time!! :)

They seem quite expensive unless there is a better way to get them. They make good tyres.
Would like to see brands like this more available.

They can be a little pricey if you use a buying service or Rakuten. I am fortunate enough to have business relationships that take me to Japan two to three times a year so I can buy them retail.

They are good sticks, but if I am honest about it, their uniqueness outside of Japan is a big part of the reason why I like them. It looks like this year's X-Blade edition is going to be more of a control racquet, so I will probably skip it since I switched to tweener frames years ago. I still need to get a couple of the red RS's. Maybe I will pick up a couple of the new Prince Tour's instead of this year's X-Blades.
