So with all the top intelligent tennis minds in TW forum, do you guys know what is up with Cirstea's game ? She was supposed to be a Can't miss top 20 talent. now she is only 80 and not getting better.

What does she need to do to get to top 20 or top 10 even

Not sure about her game, it is just very streaky. She has some good runs, but also many puzzling losses. Her face and body need no fixing at all though!

I think she'll be more receptive to my Green Card offer if she loses a few more matches. So, no. Please no meddling with her game.

it is not puzzling at all. I think she just is playing dumb tennis. She goes for her big forehand all the time for clean winner on the line. Even Novak doesn't do that and he has probably the most accurate forehand out there.

Maybe she does that cause she isn't in good enough shape to hit 30 balls every rallie.
so my solution to her is get in better shape and play smarter tennis. She has the speed, I don't think foot speed the problem

Yeah she can cream the ball, but needs to keep it in bounds. I think she is playing American style tennis where they think if you hit harder than everybody else your job is done.
She needs to learn to take pace off the ball and not go for winners every single time, this is not the 90s.

Much better physical preparation. Get into that weight room, get some muscle on her (certainly -- within reason).

Also, in tennis training I saw her on two consecutive days in Montreal: on one, very indifferent and lackadaisical, just going through her motions, no intensity; on the next, hard-working.

She should be beating someone like Bouchard, that's for sure...

Yes, somebody who is ranked 80 and has not made it past the third round in a slam this year should be beating a player ranked number 8 who has made two SFs and one slam final this year! Makes perfect sense!

I'm talking talent-wise. In terms of talent,Cirstea > Bouchard
