"Career Golden Masters"

The ATP coined this phrase for a player that wins all the Masters 1000 events (as Novak is going for it this week in Cinci).

What do you think of the name?

I like it, but I usually associate the term "golden" with a medal.

People have suggested stuff along the lines of "career masters slam"...which is cool, but "slam" also tends to suggest that a major is involved.

Would you have named it something different or do you like the name ATP has given for the occasion?

Prefer Career Masters Slam

I prefer Career Masters Slam. 'Slam' doesn't mean major - it just means all of the events you are talking about. We are talking about Masters done over a career - hence 'Career Masters Slam'. In contrast a 'Grand Masters Slam' would be winning all 9 in one year. I don't know what the word 'Golden' has anything to do with it - so I don't know why they use the term.

The reason why its called Career golden masters is because novak has won the masters cup which is wtf so if he wins all cincy he will have career masters + masters cup making it the career golden masters.

Pretty sure that isn't correct. They are only talking about the 9 Masters 1000. This is nothing to do with the WTF (Masters Cup). If Nadal, who hasn't won the WTF, won the Paris Indoor and Cincinnati - he will have this 'Career golden masters'.

Golden and slam seem inappropriate as terms for the Masters. Maybe the Masters 9000? Or Master-meister. The Master Maestro?

The "GOLDEN" makes no sense at all. Why call it Golden, when no Gold medal is involved?!
Could have just named it "Career Masters haul" or something like that. ATP fully on the Djoko bandwagon?

It's just "GOLDEN" because the ATP Masters 100 symbol is gold. But the video on the ATP site really adds a storyline and hype to the tournament.

I would call it career silver masters. Because gold makes it look like this is on par with career slam and it's not.
