Crisp/stiff poly out of the budget

Hello all, I'm interested in a crisp/stiff poly out of the usual budget polys that are out.
Budget under 100$ a reel.
Please rate which one is crispest/stiffest & keeps that crisp/stiff feeling the longest. Please note I will not go into 18 gauge strings, I break cyberflash 16gauge in 4 days in about 6-8 hours and it usually gets very mushy around this time. I play with a k90, I get my sticks strung in the range of 48-53lbs. Usually 50 mains 48 xrosses. I know that isn't the best range of tension to attain crispness but please rate anyway.

MSV focus Hex
Pro Supex Big Ace
Genesis Spin-X

Whatever other reel under 100$ you can recommend that has a crisp/stiff feel all the way till breakage. Thank you, looking forward to your ratings. I'm not financially abundant so I'll have to take you guys word for it & stick with that string for a while, maybe until 5th generation polys come in.

i haven't tried MSV or Genesis but of the other 3 Supex Big Ace plays the "crispest" for the longest IMO. The SPPP played OK (nice feel) but it lacked spin production for some reason.

Do you string around my tension? Because from what I've read on these boards, big ace is real mushy, this is actually a surprise for me because big ace sounds like a real answer to me, its in between cyberflash (the cheapest reel-70$) and sppp/genesis (the expensive budget poly, 100$). I would hope big ace is very crisp/stiff. I'll wait for other comments, but thank you for your opinion bro.

Recon,

If you think Cyber Flash gets mushy then Big Ace will seem like gut to you, same for SPPP. They are very soft poly strings. Sounds like you prefer a very stiff string. Try the MSV Hex Focus 1.23 or 1.27 its as stiff as a brick, you will love it.

haha^ thank you. I'll take your word for it seeing how you praise big ace micro like a religion, if your directing me elsewhere it must be true! once again thank you, I read some of your other post, I almost went with genesis until I read that, that review was biased.

i guess you just have to find out for yourself which one you like best. different strokes for different folks. what you say is mushy i say is crisp. neither is wrong, just different

At the tension you mentioned, MSV would work. If you are willing to go higher, then PolyStar Energy could be strung at 60+, and still not break your arm. It's a softer poly, but strung higher, could give you the best of both worlds.

TOPSPIN CONCEPT PURE!!!!
very well balanced string, can't seem to play w/ anything else anymore

did you read any part of my post? Concept pure from what I read from all its loyal followers is a poly that does everything well, its a mixture, but I hear it is soft, I'm looking more for a stiff crisp feeling string, that which is high in tension maintence, durability, and spin potential. Power I could careless for, I can crank up my shots when needed, color, texture, don't give 2 craps for, if a pink string makes me believe it raises my game, I'll be using that to death. Thank you for your comments.

I think he's right about Pure. I'm comparing it back to back right now with BBO and less face it, things don't get much more crisp/firm/stiff than BBO.

For a comparison, the stiffness rating on Pure is 273 vs a 242 for ALU. I'm using the Pure at 60/58 and like it so far. I think it would work even better at a lower tension. I'm using the 16g version. The spin is excellent BTW.

i too love stiff/crisp strings like yourself. whenever i used a mushy string, i'd crank up the tension. try that and see how that works for you

Give the thin Signum PRo POly PLasma 1.18 a try.

People often talk about this and that string and conclude it doen's do this and that - without even mentioning what gauge they tried the string in.

This is unfortunate as the same string can play differently in different type of gauges.

of the strings mentioned, i would say topspin cyber flash is the stiffest followed by msv focus hex

I have used both MSV Hex 1.10 and 1.18 at 50lbs/48lbs and I don't know that either are stiff at this low tension. The Hex 1.18 at 55/53 was a little stiff but losened up a good bit after two or three hits.

Cyber Flash may be your best option out of the group you picked. If you try the Hex, you may want to look at something in the 1.23 or greater size.

IMO, Cyberflash is nice and crisp - much crisper than Big Ace. I used Big Ace for a while, and much prefer the more immediate feel of the Cyberflash.

Just my $.02.
