Del Potro blacked out racquet

Wilson was working with him before the surgery bcoz he was down to two sticks in his bag @AO. Hopefully they came up with an easy transition. His biggest need is to find a string set-up that is easy on his his rehabbing wrist. Gut hybrid would ease the sting on the mending wrist.

Why not??? Fed's racket is a totally different beast from Delpos stick. Thicker, bigger head... I would be surprised if he went also that route...

The switch from his 6.1s to the new models can be different enough, why not try out Wilson's new frame in the process. I could totally see him playing with a 97/98 racquet too.

I think Del Po used a k6.1 which was 22mm beam and Federer's new racket is marketed as 21.5 mm so not much difference there. Unstrung weight is close to the old 90 weight and a touch more than the old k6.1.

But, it would be a logical choice for Del Po as it is very similar to the old k6.1 in beam size and it also has PWS.

No, Delpo uses a hyper pro staff 6.1 95 with a k95 paintjob.

I thought that as well (even found a pic of him as a junior using a Hyper Pro Staff), but someone here "in the know" who had strung his frame said it was the 'Original' Pro Staff Classic 6.1 si:

Yeah more interested in the backhand. The fabled, two handed backhand switch into one handed backhand mid career! I thought it was just a myth!

I would imagine that he's hitting a one-hander just to keep from stressing his left wrist. I mean the man won't even change the grommets in the two or three frames he has left and he's going to change his game?

I agree. I think once his wrist is healed he'll start hitting the two handed BH again.

I have two of these sticks in 9/10 condition. This is the supposed del potro stick?

Love this guy!
Vamos martiíįìînn!

Love the temporary one-handed bh. Sure to be back to the big two-hander in matches, but it will be cool to see him unveil the running singlehander in a match one day when really stretched out for a pass....Goran, marat, rosset, tsonga style.

pretty much like his old HPS 95 by looking @ the mold. Could be trying out different stiffness ratings to find something that he's comfortable with.

I may own this racquet, or another one Delpo tried out. I have a custom Blade 93 that came from the Wilson Pro Department and the only information that I was allowed to have from Wilson was that it was set up for a very high ranking ATP player. Siffness = RA60 and it's about 360g strung. The clue was the full bed of ALU Power at very high tension. Very very high. I checked on TW and only two players played with this string in a full bed. Goffin being the other. Given the tension, I assumed it was a play test for JMDP.
I played with it for a few weeks and am still trying to get rid of the tennis elbow that developed.

Done Sault a few times and Bedoin a few times more but never from Malaucene. Gone down to Malaucene. Test your brakes first! Do you now the area?

A little, did the Bedouin side, stayed in Joucas, very hot for the last 500k. Loved the ride
through Gorges de la Nesque, maybe my favorite.

The Gorges set off my Vertigo! We had 40° in the shade one visit. According to the visitors' book in the villa, 43° was measured.

Sounds brutal, looking out over the edge at Gorges can provoke many thoughts, all of them spine tingling.
