Diadem Sports Racquets

Grabbed demo of the new FS Nova and thought it was a pretty good racquet. Pretty easy on the arm tweener and makes life simple on the court. It is obviously pretty light in stock form and it was strung up with a soft round diadem poly called flash. I am buying the frame and will experiment with it a bit more. I’ll add a leather grip and weight in the hoop and see how it goes with one of the polys I like.
Haven't played the Nova but have played a lot with Flash in different setups and I really liked that string. Soft and round, and very good control for taking big cuts. I'm glad you got the stick, now someone I trust can give in depth feedback on this racquet (as I save money myself, haha). Did you test drive the Elevate too? I remember we both tried that before the previous gen one, but now gravitate more towards the 100 sq inch.

Yeah, I did the tour version for one session! It felt very much like the last one. It has been a while since trying them out but honestly couldn’t tell the difference. The Nova surprised me and totally stock form so decided to buy, add some weight and really see how I can play with it! This was a bad tennis week but hope next week I can get a lot more time on the court

The new FS Nova is a nice stick! I did modify it already to 337g, 32.3cm balance with leather grip and weight 2&10. It is strung up with confidential @53lbs. This is a maneuverable forgiving stick with a good connected feel. It does have tweener playability however control is much better than a typical tweener and feel is most certainly far better. I did not feel any shortcomings in anything it did. Especially enjoyed it’s connected feel on volleys. This was outdoors in some pretty cold weather but I’ll be trying this stick more whenever i get a hitting opportunity.

Hi folks,

I’ve tried Nova FS and its awesome.
Maybe I will get 1 or 2. Where is the best price I can get Diadem racket? Why the big store don’t have them like Tennis warehouse?
I hope you all safe for virus.

Managed to get a nice long hit today in decent weather and man did that feel good! The more I hit with my modified FS Nova the more I enjoy it. The feel is pretty good and its balance of power/control is really spot on. I have only hit it strung with confidential so this combo is working pretty well. The consistency and predictability on each shot is really helping and i feel very comfortable on either wing. And I simply love it on touch shots and volleys. Looking forward to the next hit for sure.

Would love a comparision with either version of the tc100 ! like, power, touch, serve, returns, comfort, etc

That is awesome. I'm jealous! You have leather on yours right? Any weight anywhere in hoop? Also, any vibes on ball contact? A friend recently returned some Diadem demos and told me he felt Nova had some buzzing/vibrations. Probably strings giving out or something. When I tested the previous model, those were pretty decent actually with no such vibrations.

I added an Oehms leather grip, OG super grab, 2g tungsten divided between 2&10 and small amount 7” spot. Overall, 338g/32.2 balance and frame seems to take weight well and still nicely maneuverable. I have not detected any vibrations or harshness off center with just an elastic band dampner. I also like the sweet spot which is overall forgiving.

Yep, here we go. The Nova is not as oval head shape wise as the TC100. Putting them against each other you can see some differences on the Nova 2,5, 8 and 10. The Nova also tighter in the middle of the string bed in spite of having 6 mains in the throat. The effect is a more versatile launch angle . Also my Nova weighs more after modifying then my TC100s which are 310 stock unstrung. TC100 has that raw brawn so I’d give it an edge there and on serve all things being equal. The Nova stock is super easy to play but will get pushed around and needs a bit more stability. As i mentioned, it takes weight well which is a good thing as it has very good authority on the ball now. Serve is also coming around and i can get some very respectable bigger serves but it needed the weight. Touch is a Nova stand out and it certainly gets the edge. If TC100 is Thors Hammer then Nova with added weight is the balanced scalpel. Very good balance of power/control with a bit extra precision and feel. Flex in the Nova is not overly evident and is very uniform. It is close flex wise to the TC100 70RA then 63RA. The Nova isn’t about raw power, it just has enough of it to not leave you wanting. Think a more controlled tweener with feel.

Sounds great! Thanks for the review. I presume their grip 3 does not run small like angell? From what others have said your impressions are pretty much spot on. Paint looks good too, could be a great frame for many.

The grip size is a standard size and doesn’t feel too big or small. Yes, Angell with leather do feel smaller then most. PJ is decent i would say, nothing comes close to the Angell PJ quality

@topspn thanks great feedback! So what is the FS for before Nova? Did they change the name from last gen or am I missing something? Also I played with last gen Nova so I have some idea I guess. Can you give your impressions as to the difference from this new Nova vs last gen Nova if you've tried previous Nova?

I def had the buzzing with current Elevate I demoed. I figured it was a 1/4 (they didn't have 3/8 demos at the time) and so maybe it was due to the smaller grip or something. Had Solstice Power in it.

According to Diadem, it is flex stabilization system: some strategically placed HMT carbon. I actually never tried the previous Nova, only the Elevate and Elevate Tour of previous gen.

@topspn Hi, thanks for your feedback, since you also use Ezone 100 2020, could you compare Nova FS with Ezone 100 2020 please?

I have both the nova plus and ezone 2020 100...
Nova plus is a like wooden baseball bat..
And the ezone is like a aluminium bad..
I hope you can understand the analogy..
The nova plus is more traditional with more feedback and feel.
Ezone 100 is more modern with less feedback and feel..
Both can club the ball..like raw horsepower compared to turbo..

You will need to take my comments with a grain of salt as i haven’t spent to much time with the ezone 100. Maybe 3hrs or so and once was in super cold crappy outdoor conditions. I modified both frames with leather grips and weight as i can’t play either one in the light stock form they are in. Ezone super easy to play and just very forgiving. It has decent feel and comfort just not the level of connectedness the Nova provides. They are both strung with confidential @53lbs. I don’t really recall another frame that has the super forgiving string bed of the ezone. Ezone has some more inherent power and i had no complaints with anything it does including level of control i was getting. Easy peasy ezone should be the name. I really need to spend a lot more time with it to be more insightful.

I have 2 Elevate MP here in OZ and they are a rare grip 5’s. I was wondering how different the new FS versions will be and whether you will still be able to get some grip 5’s in this batch. Love the colour and feel of these racquets.

1- is there anyone who can describe the differences between the old model and the new one of the nova?
2- I would be curious if in your opinion, the nova, nova plus and lite are the same frame, with only different handle length, lead block in the handle and foaming of the oval (which in the lite is absent).
3- what exactly does FS technology consist of? From the photos it seems that the interior of the frame is divided into 3 zones, as for donnay, is it possible?
Thank you

Just wondering whether Diadem are getting traction for their products in the US. I do like there range, it’s simple and concise, great colours and their frames are comfortable. Would love to see them add one more frame, a 325g 20mm box beam racquet with a 97-98 head and a 60 RA.

I hope Diadem continues to gain traction & can eventually figure out a way to manufacture their products in America. It would surely bring them more attention & help them standout in an oversaturated market.

Just picked up a Nova and have to say it is a very compelling 100 racquet. Super maneuverable, classic feel, hits a precise ball, serves absolute rockets.

Surprised it isn't more popular.

It is indeed a very good tweener style racquet not as powerful as the babs but very good feedback and foam filled. It needed weight in the head to get to a stable playable level.

The Diadem range is a nice succinct line of racquets with great colours that stand out. Would like to see more grip 5 options available as these are quite hard to locate. Some of the earlier Elevate models chipped paint very easily and hope Diadem would continue to improve this aspect of quality.
Would be fantastic if Diadem released a LTd Pro stock frame with a 325g - 330g unstrung weight frame. This would be fantastic, a frame to rival frames like the Pro Tour, C10, RF 97 and Yonex HG Pro 330.

A 315 nova and a 330 elevate, with extra beef @ 3/9 would be super good racquets.

Diadem nova 300, lead in the hoop https://imgur.com/gallery/BHwVoLw

OK have been working with this nova 300 for about 10 days. Am now very strong in saying that it has many positives, with one glaring (but correctable) flaw: just not enough mass in the 3/9 zones of the hoop! This flaw results in a really buzzy feel for the stock frame if you're a bit off-center. This is extra frustrating given that diadem hypes the feel so much based on the foam filling.

Well, happily I found the simple solution. It consists of about 6-8 grams of lead placed in the positions shown above. This smoothes out the buzziness quite effectively and gets this racquet into the classic feel territory that is should be. Think 2015 blade type of response, just easier to use :D

Finally, the hoop weight should ideally be countered to get the frame 6-7 pts HL for optimum results. Have fun folks!

Diadem to me has the best build quality. Like as if they were made in Belgium .. higher quality than Yonex .. their raw materials are the best in the biz . And I’m a tough critic . I pretty much hate every racket out .. I cherry pick here and there from other manufacturers but the ones I love are all discontinued. Except one babolat..
most everyone I’ve let hit with our nova demo Loves it ...both regular and lite version . I’m hoping they will do giving us a racket that will rival the clash / super soft frame .
