Whatever else can be said about the man Novak has constantly and consistently willed himself through the first week more often than almost any player ever. He ALWAYS puts himself in there so to speak. That inhuman consistency was bound to bear fruit and should not be taken for granted.
Personally I think TTW does not value consistency anywhere near enough.

Fed first faced Rafa on Clay in 2005 .
Novak first faced Rafa on Clay in 2006 .
Novak faced all versions of ClayGoat .
And I already said , It's unfortunate for Fed that he was 5 years older to Rafa , so he was at disadvantage on clay ( plus 1 handed backhand )

The win against 2015 Nadal isn't that impressive to be fair. Stan and maybe even Murray would've also have beaten Nadal if they met. It came down to luck of the draw

However, there's a very obvious reason that these type of stats end in "despite all that" and that's because tennis didn't begin in 2011. I know this is contrary to what some Novak fans believe, but it's true. So tired of reading stats that say "Since 2011..."
