Regardless of the “luck” of facing Nadal in his lesser clay forms, Djokovic has taken knocks from every clay form of Nadal - the young Bull ones in ‘06/07/08, the epics in ‘09 and ‘11 at Masters, the heartbreaking losses from 12-14…

Whatever else can be said about the man Novak has constantly and consistently willed himself through the first week more often than almost any player ever. He ALWAYS puts himself in there so to speak. That inhuman consistency was bound to bear fruit and should not be taken for granted.

Personally I think TTW does not value consistency anywhere near enough.

I don't think either is all that GOAT worthy if you actually apply context to them, but why let reason stand in the way of hyperbole? Ending his Monte Carlo streak in 2013 is far more impressive than either.

Quiet!! Agenda in motion.

Yeah . Ofcourse .

But , Djokovic has 9 wins versus Rafa , Fed has 2 wins .

Federer is 5 year old + One Handed backhand , so can't blame him though !

Federer is rival for Novak on clay .
If they were same age , we would have seen many blockbusters from them .

Which version of Rafa did Fed face and what was Novak's record against that version of Rafa on clay?

Djokovic is finished.
Consider how weak Djokovic must be, that he needed Nadal to have that foot injury, just so Djokovic could win a 98 minute set.
He needed Nadal to serve 8 double-faults and miss the easiest volley ever seen in a Nadal tiebreaker.
This is the weakest version of Djokovic we've ever seen at Roland Garros, and solely dependent on Nadal being injured and the mental midgetry of Tsitsipas.

Personally I need an analysis of how many net points Rafael won in the 2019 US Open.

Just some fun oddballs that Novak has had against Rafa.

Nadal won Monte Carlo, Rome, Madrid and Roland Garros in 2010

Guess who ended all those reigns?

Djokovic ended the Monte Carlo reign in 2013, the Rome and Madrid reign in 2011, the Roland Garros reigin in 2015. Basically he has dethroned Nadal at every single big clay court event on the tour.

The Monte Carlo H2H is 2-2, however overall Djokovic leads the sets won 5-4

During the Nadal v Djokovic rivalry at RG, Nadal won the first 10 sets that they played against each other, from RG 2006 to RG 2012 set two.
Since then, they have played 22 sets and have won exactly 11 sets each since then!

Djokovic still remains the only player to beat Nadal as the defending champion at a grand slam on all three surfaces.

Despite all that, Nadal dominates Djokovic in the real metrics on clay, 7-2 at Roland Garros, and clay overall.

Fed first faced Rafa on Clay in 2005 .

Novak first faced Rafa on Clay in 2006 .

Novak faced all versions of ClayGoat .

And I already said , It's unfortunate for Fed that he was 5 years older to Rafa , so he was at disadvantage on clay ( plus 1 handed backhand )

The win against 2015 Nadal isn't that impressive to be fair. Stan and maybe even Murray would've also have beaten Nadal if they met. It came down to luck of the draw

I still think the 2021 win is impressive. Maybe Nadal wasn't at his best, but it's not like Novak came into the match in epic form himself. It was a fair fight

All impressive, Novak has rightfully earned his title as one of the best clay courters of all time. However, there's a very obvious reason that these type of stats end in "despite all that" and that's because tennis didn't begin in 2011. I know this is contrary to what some Novak fans believe, but it's true. So tired of reading stats that say "Since 2011..."

If you are tired of reading since 2011, then you must also be tired of reading baby this, old man that, weak era this, strong era that. People picking up whatever moments in time they want to suit their agenda.

So yeah, lets take the whole body of work into consideration, I agree and see how they did over their whole careers.

Let's not get carried away. I read here every day that Rafa was injured during the FO semis. So the match doesn't really even count, no?

Always good to remember the classics
Djokovic can no longer rely on Federer to usher him into the AO Final.
Stuck on 17 for life?

Yes, the Nadal in the middle of his 81 match winning streak on clay. Goes to show how great Federer was. (I realize you know all this and just want to bait) which is cool too, do you :D
He is good, but we have seen the real nadal on clay only in 2008 and 2010
