Novak Djokovic reveals: I watch my matches on the internet
The preparation is just as important as the duel with the opponent which is why it is no surprise that Novak Djokovic has action in "Play site" firm which works with tennis stats. Novak has decided to invest in business that helps him to prepare better for the match.
"It's about an innovative technology which helps tennis players to prepare better for the match. The focus is on tennis players paying attention on some specifics of the opponent and so find good and bad sides of the rival. Also, we help the parents to watch the matches of their kids on lower category tournaments. It's important that parents are always informed about the development of the child, to see how the child plays and behaves", said Djokovic for Blicsport.
There are people in Novak's team that have the duty to scout the opponent, but he didn't want to reveal the names.
"There are people who work on that, who collect information and send it to me in video form which I later analyse with my team. If I need something more to prepare myself for the matches, then we have additional meetings", said the world number two.
Obviously, Djokovic regularly follows the results of his biggest rivals wherever he is in the world.
"I am always following and it is tough for me to picture any other top player not following the results of other rivals"
Unsurprisingly, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer draw most of Novak's attention.
"To be clear, I don't watch all of their matches, but I do watch some segments. Semifinals and finals. That is the daily part of my work, I must always be prepared"
Technology has improved a lot in recent years which makes all your interest accessible on the internet.
"I find my matches on Youtube as well and I watch them. Internet is full of all sorts of matches and points, so when I need it, I watch them. Now it's very easy to find some information regarding the tactic of the opponent"
After winning the tournament in Doha, Novak immediately went to Australia.
"I enjoy Melbourne, I feel that I belong to those courts as soon as I step on them. This is my most successful Grand Slam and I came here with highest goals. I have time to acclimatize"
Novak Djokovic has won the Australian Open in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016.
Vajda instead of Vemic
Instead of Dusan Vemic who took the position of Novak's coach in Doha, it's Marian Vajda who will fly to Melbourne. Vajda and Vemic will rotate at the coach position in 2017, while Novak will be deciding who will show up at which tournament.
