Greatest doesn't mean perfect though, that is the point. His numbers are insane when it comes to his claim as having the greatest all round resume, meaning it is better than anyone else. His resume right now stands as the greatest, unless you put insane value on the CYGS that Laver holds.

For those who are so obsessed with calendar year, Nadal never get passed the 3rd major in a CY, while Fed never get passed the 2nd.

Laver's CYGS has been blown out of proportion. It was the 1st full year of open era. Things were just getting figured out. Players back then didn't travel as much as now. He played only 5 rounds for AO, which had a smaller field of mostly local Australian players.
Novak's record of winning 4 majors in a row, WB 15 to RG 16, is a greater achievement. He also holds the record for most consecutive major matches won (30), which is telling.

honestly if laver wasnt australian he may not even have played the AO back then.. hes lucky hes from there

Agree with everything you said. I have never understood why the 4 slams in a row has not gotten more credit other than Fedal fans want to discount it.
