Do you think Federer can extend his Grand Slam semifinals streak in 2017

Nobody can answer this until we see him play an actual match. Live streaming Dubai practices and the Hopman cup aren't remotely real match play.

Ask the question after we see his form at the AO.

With a very lucky draw it can happen. The days of him going through a murderer's row of a draw to the semis are over.

If he is injury free and bar some tought draws in a row, he certanly has the level to reach a SF. He destroyed Gasquet, whom is a top 15 player and even that he lost to Zverev, his serve didn't get broken and Alexander is pretty much a top 10 .. things look good

He reached a SF on one knee just two slams ago. His level before surgery was very high (F, F, SF). Draws might be tough, but he can more than do it. I don't get the notion that he's washed considering he was far and away a top 3 player since mid-2014, prior to the injury, and still in his 30s.

Federer did get broken once vs Zverev - when serving for the first set. That's even better, I guess, since that means with a bit clutcher play he might've won in two.

Actually it did, when Fed was serving for the 1st set.

If he had a better ranking i would definetly say yes, but his ranking might stop him. I fear Murray/Djokovic will be too big task for him, but the rest of the field is pretty weak. With a good draw he will reach a SF.
