Does mixed doubles count towards your rating?

I am trying to figure out how this guy has a 4.0 rating.

He played 4.5 singles and Open doubles and 8.0 mixed last year.

He was 4-1 in 4.5 singles against computer rated players not players playing up. His only loss was a 3 setter in the final of a tourney.

He was 4-2 in Open level doubles. The 2 losses were close not blowouts.

He was 0-3 in 8.0 mixed. Strange considering the rest of his record.

The only thing I can think of is that his mixed counted towards his rating but I thought someone had said earlier that it doesn't count towards your rating.

If you play adult league, mixed does not count towards your rating. However if you play only tournaments and mixed than I think it would. What letter does it have after the 4.0. If its "m" or "t" its either a mixed rating or a tournament rating. I've seen some crazy ratings come out of the tournament and mixed player arena, its the wild west. Seems like the computer has a hell of a time crunching the mixed numbers and I've seen 5.5 tournament players end up with 4.5 ratings.

Yup, I was a 5.0 based on adult league, then played only mixed last season, and got downgraded to a 4.5...

That is exactly what he did. Tournament play with a mixed league. Some thing is strange about this. I almost get the feeling that he deliberately played the mixed and lost because he has been a 4.5 singles/Open double player for 3-4 years until this year. Now all of the sudden he is playing 4.0 tourneys and leagues?

Goob, some sections do not include tournament results in th eNTRP computer rating. If your section is one of those, then only the mixed results would go toward the computer generated rating and the rating would indicate souce, ie, "M". However, if a player does play adult or senior league, then mixed does not count and only the results from the adult or senior league count.
