Some updates regarding Rafa's injury:

"That's just part of my career," Nadal said afterward, "I'm used to playing with some kind of injury."
Nadal’s injury appeared to be related to the patella tendinitis near his right knee that he’s battled in recent years.
"I'm not able to play an Indian Wells quarterfinals match every day, so I just went out and did my best."
He added: "I'm happy to be in the semifinals. I hope to be ready for tomorrow."

No, he is not pulling out. He will play through it with whatever injury he is carrying.

If he plays he is not carrying any injury besides the usual for every tennis player nagging issue.

Far too many times have seen him to know that he is one cold blooded computer when it comes to estimating his chances to be fooled.

If he goes out and stops, that is also calculated. Make no mistake.

Thanks for the info. Yeah should have probably pulled out seeing how the rest of the year went

Sometimes your success becomes your own worst enemy. His marquee rivalry with Nadal compelled him to play injured, just because of the 16,000 people that came to see it, and it cost him significantly that year.

Some updates regarding Rafa's injury:

For a few moments Friday afternoon at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, it appeared that Rafael Nadal would not be able to continue with his match against Karen Khachanov. His right knee was again giving him trouble and he grimaced in pain as he fought off a determined opponent.
But as he's done time and again, Nadal battled his way through the match to eventually win 7-6(2), 7-6(2) in a pair of tiebreaks that kept the packed crowd in Stadium 1 raging for more than two hours.
"That's just part of my career," Nadal said afterward, "I'm used to playing with some kind of injury."
The Spaniard will now face his biggest rival, Roger Federer, for the 39th time when the two meet in the semifinals in Indian Wells on Saturday.
Nadal’s injury appeared to be related to the patella tendinitis near his right knee that he’s battled in recent years.
It will be the first time since 2016 that the second-ranked Nadal, a three-time singles champion at Indian Wells, will appear in the semifinals here. He's beaten four opponents here this year without dropping a single set.
"I'm not able to play an Indian Wells quarterfinals match every day, so I just went out and did my best."
He added: "I'm happy to be in the semifinals. I hope to be ready for tomorrow."

Please post the previous informations about that "injury" from the previous days.

He didn't look like he wanted to win today, KK just super sucked.

I think Federer takes the first set and then wins via a Nadal retirement. Federer will run him like a ragdoll for the first set and then Nadal concedes after that. I can't see Nadal risking the clay court season at this point. Not unlike Djokovic, he may sit out for a few weeks or more.

I've made it shorter to be easier to read. Rafa says he hopes to be ready for tomorrow, so I think he is going to play.

Gentleman everyone plays with a little pain as you get older it's part of the game that said ice and ibuprofen and the strong Spanish bull takes it in 3 epic sets vamos

Nadal obviously laid all the ground work to leave federer with no chances of a win.

1. Nadal can talk to his team evaluate his chances for tomorrow and pull out giving Fed walk over. Moral Victor.
2. Nadal chooses to play and retires midway. Obviously the knee is about to break.
3. Nadal somehow completes the match limping and taking million MTOs and goes to the presser and says not a good time to talk about injury no?

Which one do you think is the most likely scenario to play out tomorrow?

I voted Nadal. No way Fed's winning this regardless of the outcome.

No he actually injured it in the Dodig match towards the end.

He hit a funny looking smash then started to do the abbreviated serve motion and loss of movement to the FH side in the following points.

I still think it's that "hot shot" off the net cord that hurt him, it's everywhere on Youtube. Fed had a little giddy jog after hitting that shot.
