A little high? :-o He's defeted Federer eight (8) times ! ! !

In good or bad years like this one, playing Nalbandian is always a nightmare for Federer.

I see, which is why Federer is 8 wins from the last 11 times they've played. He was a little tired today, a little injured in Shanghai and having a bad day in Madrid.

So what did he do outside the rules?
And if he did that why wasn't he punished by atp?

Taking over 20 seconds to serve, abusing the time rule during change of ends after 1-0 in a set or first 6 points of a tiebreaker. He's been given numerous time violation warnings, but I think many would argue they are too lenient with him.

Must be a nice time for you. Karlovic getting better and better - Nalbandian back to his old form. You must be looking forward to 2008. ;)

Nalbandian back to his old form isn't a worry to me either, if you look at his results in an average year he'll have, out of the 13 GS and MS tournies about 3 or 4 results that are better than 4th round?

Are you from India...where one is born into a caste, and can never rise above it? You attitude is nuts. NOBODY in this world has a 'place in life'.

Nalbandian is no where near as good as Federer and doesn't deserve to beat him...

He deserved to win today. He DID play better than King Roger today.

especially after the year he's had.

Thank goodness that injuries or lack of interest or outside interests do not preclude one from a higher performance when they re-dedicate themselves to their chosen endeavor.

I hope Nalbandian wins the event now that I see how much Ninman hates him. Nalbandian or Nadal, since Ninman seems to hate Nadal too.

Ninman hates Nadal more than Nalbandian. I don't think he hates Nalby, but he definitely doesn't like Nadal. That's for sure.

Perhaps Federer played one tournament too many. It's been a relatively poor year for him in general. Hopefully he'll win the TMC and finish on a high.

According to the arguments/comments on this forum, then ninman hates Djokovic too, right?

Maybe I should have said to his old form with a good first serve. That is a nightmare for every player. You should hope for Nalbandian to get his good from back, because I'm sure Nadal will be at least as unhappy playing Nalbandian as Federer.

Which is why stan wawrinka defeated him fairly comfortably in Basel?

Fed is going to go home and rack his brain for ideas about how to counter Nalby. I think he might be reviewing his list of coach applications tonight. Nalbys game is Feds worst nightmare, he's fortunate they didnt meet in slams this year.

so why has he won 8 of the last 11 matches they've played?

I don't hate Djokovic at all. I think he's a good player.

But he does everything to win - ball bouncing, stalling, injury time-outs, etc etc etc (according to some), so why not hate him even if he's a good player?

Not quite, I don't hate Djokovic, or Andy Murray, or even Volandri. I just think everyone has their place in life, Nalbandian is no where near as good as Federer and doesn't deserve to beat him, especially after the year he's had.

I am a Federer fan and I must admit that you sound really DUMB. I think you should stop barking. You know you have a place in your life, go back there and hide your tail

Says a lot about Federer when 3 slams and one final is a "relatively poor year for him."

Don't live in the past.

fact : 2007: Nalbandian 2-0

current Fit Dave is Feds worst nightmare, not the out of shape one who used to eat too much cake. Any more questions?:D

Well 3 of the top 4 already out, and a 2-3 record at the tournament between them. Hardly a surprise. Did anyone really think the top guys would take Paris seriously when they had to be given big money to even accept playing.

I suppose Henin didnt take Wimbledon seriously when she got pushed around by Bartoli  .

What that has to do with anything I said is absolutely nothing. I guess you are another one who likes to make a habit of being stupid. Yeah Henin lost to Bartoli at Wimbledon, again which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread or my comments, bad loss, she has the last laugh with 2 slams this year to the Williams 1 and unaminous recognition as the greatest women player in the game today. Goodnight.

nalbandian has been playing pretty well, and you have to remember that he's played federer since forever ago, even in the juniors, didn't he beat him at the US Open? obviously he's going to know fed's game better than most other opponents.

Federer has a history of difficulty playing some players, and this is well known.

Nadal, Nalbandian, good Safin, Canas a couple others i cant remember, so this shouldnt be a big surprise i don think

2 cents

does anyone actually think that nalbandian at his very best has a chance against Federer at his very best? If so please show me the arguments that support your version of the truth.

It just happeend two times in a row. Thats like asking if anyone actually thinks Fed at his very best can beat Nadal at his best in the FO final. You'll just have to accept that it happened. If you cant, nothing will convince you.;)

How about a Nadal-Nalbandian final just to REALLY rile ninman up? That would be sweet. But let's see if Nadal can take it to Youzhny and Nalby to Ferrer and perhaps Murray.

heres some of the match report:

PARIS (AP) -- David Nalbandian beat Roger Federer for the second time in less than two weeks on Thursday, earning a 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory in the third round of the Paris Masters.

The result evened the series between the two 8-8 and ended Federer's streak of reaching the final in eight straight tournaments -- going back to May.

"It's not easy being aggressive against him when you're 3 meters (10 feet) behind the baseline," said Federer, who lost to the Argentine in the final of the Madrid Masters on Oct. 21.

"He's got a phenomenal backhand and can dictate play from both sides," said Federer, who lost for the eighth time this season. Guillermo Canas and Rafael Nadal also have beaten Federer twice each while Novak Djokovic and Filippo Volandri also have beaten the Swiss star.

"I wish conditions were a bit faster because indoors is supposed to be fast," Federer said. "Not here, I guess."

Nalbandian didn't complain.

"Well, it's different," Nalbandian said. "Over there (in Madrid) it's a little faster."

He next plays fifth-seeded David Ferrer of Spain, who advanced after beating 12th-seeded Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-2.

After beating Federer in Madrid, Nalbandian was eliminated in the first round of last week's event in Basel, Switzerland. The week before Madrid, he was eliminated in the second round in Vienna.

"Federer's the No. 1 in the world," Nalbandian said. "You always have to be at 100 percent. I was, just like in Madrid."

Nalbandian wasted five set points by shanking balls long or into the net.

"I absolutely thought he was getting nervous," Federer said. "He has a tendency to, you know, sometimes give a second chance when you think you're down and out.

looking through all the posts in here it appears that ninman is the "villain" in here or "heel" as people say.

Yeah, if that is what would make Ninman the most upset then I am all for it, Nalbandian-Nadal final please come on down. :p Well I want Nadal there anyway, but knowning how much Ninman would hate to see Nalbandian there I hope both make it.

Maybe ninman is Richard Williams and he is a secret Federer fan, all the while preaching the values he instilled in his daughters about sportsmanship for all of us to see. ;)
