Hello,

Today, I expect my APDC+ to arrive on my doorstep by the time I get off from work. Being a first-time stringer, I know there will be "growing pains" before I nail this completely down. I was wondering if anyone have any tips regarding this particular string machine that I should know about. Any tips about how to string my particular racquet is also appreciated if availible.

**I am aware of the apparent tower creep at times with the APDC+ and will find bigger washers for it when the time comes.**

String Machine: Alpha Pioneer DC Plus
Racquet: Head IG Youtek Extreme Pro 2.0 (16x19)
-Recommended Tension: 50#-60#
-Stiffness: 69
-Mains: (6m/20ft)
-Crosses: (5M/16.5ft) ==> I guess I shouldn't cut my strings at 20ft/20ft from a single use string pack due to the longer mains

I usually measure out a set in half, then cut six inches longer on one side, giving you two pieces, one being a foot longer and use that for mains.

New racket...... Add 2-3 lbs because the grommets won't be seated and you'll see some tension loss initially until they seat themselves better. I only do that on the first string job of a new stick or grommet set.

Alpha knows about the problems with tower creep and will even send you new washers if you call. Don't know why they don't just include them.

You will be fine if you just cut the string into 2 equal length pieces. Measurements given by the stringers digest and manufacturers are usually on the high side. Most racquets, the most string you will need for mains will be 20 feet ( if its an 18x20 and polyester). After you string it, you will know how much string is needed and can plan on that in the future.
