^Yes, Fog did play great! Just too bad that he has so much of those mental off days. Maybe it's all changing now? He's a slam winner! Maybe Flavia will be the final piece of puzzle? Fog, RG15 champion?
Like I said:
Fabio has made nadal's mind all foggy
Safe bet. We want a Clowgnini-LaMonf' final!!
that would be epic
offtopic:you live in helsinki too
What do you think?
He is a good clay courter.
Hope this thread can become legendary. I'm probably the only one who even thought about this
Would be indeed. Dream of Clowgnini-Gulbis and Monfils-Dolgopolov semis. We would see some real shotmaking and a bit of drama.
(Offtopic: not really, but I really feel Finnish these days ;-)

No f...ing way. The world will erupt in a ball of fire if Foggy even makes the final. Great theater, however. I would love to see it. But it's a pipe dream. Others have thought it; you are hardly alone. You simply have the guts to make these insane thoughts public.
The tennis Gods are in full control. If Foggy wins it means that a coup-d'etat has occurred at the highest levels of the universe. Nothing would ever be the same again. It would signify a massive tear in the foundations of the physical and spiritual world.
You realize that Fog has already won a slam?
Yes, himself and Bolelli have had success in doubles, winning a GS and some Masters finals. I think Bolelli and Fognini are a good pair, with both players on the opposite side of the temperament spectrum. I think they are good for each other....
Fognini was very confident at net against Nadal. And he kept his cool and concentration better than I've ever seen him do. That doubles success could really lift him to new heights now! Just WOW, if he ends up winning Rome, his home tournament. Then at RG...
Haha, well I don't have the same confidence in him as you do, but it would be great to see, I agree.
Not confidence, just some imagination.
Problem is his head. That is the deal with him, he could go past 3 or 4 rounds, but he is not reliable against lesser opponents. The guy switches off and thinks the racquet is gonna do the work for him by itself. But when he sees a top guy like nadal, suddenly he realizes he needs to work and gets motivated.
Rafa will win the FO AND WIMBY this year, bet on it. In fact I am willing to bet on it. Challenges anyone?
You realize that Fog has already won a slam?
Yes, of course. Hey, he is an extremely talented player. Flaky too, however. Perhaps his doubles win boosted his confidence. The guy had a huge chip on his shoulder and used to pack it in if he wasn't feeling "just right". Abusive too.
I have little respect for that kind of attitude. People pay money to see these guys. Perhaps he has changed. He is one of the few players where a slight change in attitude would bring a large change in results.
Foggy is a poster boy for how the mental aspect of the game is so important. He oozes talent. No question. Enough to win the French? I don't think so. It will not happen. Nadal will lose two FO finals before Foggy even gets to a final. Simply my opinion, although I agree that the doubles win may have had a serious effect on him--perhaps now HE himself takes his talent seriously!
