Giorgi new racket?

They mentioned she had wrist pain and had to take time off--probably a catalyst for having to switch from babolat. Looked like it may have been a Wilson with the custom design.

Hi guys,

I was watching the highlights from giorgi VS Williams in Auckland and I noticed that giorgi was sporting a brandless paint job. Isn’t she with her trusted Babolat anymore?
Didn’t see the babolat buttcap either...

Well it could be maybe even the knockoff chinese ones.... well lets wait & see, or just find it out already

could be right, i think her plain racket bag reminds me of an older version of Wilson bag....

Pretty certain its her trusty Pure Control/Pure Storm mold w/ a custom paint job:

16x20 pattern, what looks like 8 mains in the throat, and the spacing on the outside mains & bottom crosses screams Pure Control mold.

I don't know much figuring out racquets from the mold but because of the head shape I felt a bit oval I thought it could be a tecnifibre.
There is something new about her face too.....nose job?

For the record, she was trying out a new racquet in late 2019:

But, again, you can see that her frame from Auckland is 16x20 and the one in the picture is 16x19, so its not that one.

Given how pros tend to stay w/ the same frame, and that she's been using the Pure Control mold since day one, and that the one in the pics from Auckland closely resemble the Pure Control mold, the most likely scenario is that she's using a custom PJ over her old frames.

And her style of play is power and more power. I’m sure that’s going to cause wrist issues. I mean she hits one of the biggest forehands.

She has a history of mystery sticks. Nod nod wink wink. Say no more.
Also white grommets are actually quite smart because easier to string now that her father has become a little older.
Someone should takeclear picture of her butt(cap) then we ought to know more. ;)

these are artigianal raquets , made by an italian entepreneur , his name is Fabrizi.
The raquet has been designed by and italian eng. called Gabriele Medri.
For many years , she used Babolat without any contract , since his father has some bizarre ideas about the sum to ask for the endorsment, as by the outfit.

'Artigianale': nice word!! I'm going to rock that verbally for the next little while - thanks! :)

I guess the proof will be in the eating, of the pudding that is. ;):p
Regarding her clothing i understand she designs them herself for years.
She isnt the first Italian players with boutique racquets. I remember already during the wooden racquet area that there was a Italian male pro with an enormous W stencil on his strings which stood for some small unknown brand?

I love the sound of artigianal, much more than handcraft, make more sense.
I guess regarding the big W , it was Adriano Panatta and his Wip raquet.
Wip stands for Walter Pedrazzoli Precision , the name of the owner of this small factory located in Bassano del Grappa ( Italy). It was a peculiar stick, very , very flexy. Ilie Nastase loved so much the Wip , that borrowed one to Adriano to play in Wimbledon, during the final , he broke the strings of his Wip raquet and went mad, loosing his last chance to win.

Her latest results are promising. She looks much more consistent than ever before...
If she can get a better coach, her results will be much more in the top 20 ie getting to QF more often.

That's because she played lower ranked players.

Giorgi is the only female player that will stone cold stop me channel surfing on YouToob or on Satellite. She is literally breath-taking to watch. It's no secret her father is a terrible coach. It's no secret her talents are a bit squandered. It's also no secret she is the most interesting female to watch, and she plays absolutely fearless tennis with more power and speed than the lumbering Serena can muster. She dresses great on court, and even better off. And she makes bags of 'Lire' endorsing Italian designs, and now racquets apparently. Some folks have a gifted existence.
Never any nonsense on court. No theatrics. No shouting. No medical breaks. No gamesmanship. No crying. No whinging. She lets her racquet do the talking. It's refreshing.
She hits loads of doubles, and a defensive slice is not her favourite shot, but I would find her less interesting to watch if she toned it down any.

Not everything is roses in this Giorgi family, they had to survive many issues, the worse: the early passing of her sister very close to her.
So my sincere respects for Camila and family.

Yea, and I always wished she would get coached by somebody different, ex: Carlos Rodriguez who demands hard work of his players. Hope will happen some day.

Every person had trouble, making a drama because she playing tennis (badly) on the screen is not a thing to do.

It's just like a friend of mine said the other day that Agassi was a poor boy who succeeded in life.

If he had money for tons of tennis gear and for traveling to tournaments and coaches and so on, he was not poor at all. There are many others more talented than he is who cannot afford that.

I dont think Agassi is poor at all. Certainly now he is married to Steffi.
But this thread is about Giorgi. There are more fearless bashers in WTA like that girl from Letland who won Rolsnd Garros a few years ago.So everything is possible for Giorgi

Some of us lost mothers and sisters.

Other lost more dear persons, these are things that happen in life. No need to dramatize this because she's playing teennis on your TV.

it's just normal stuff, this is what is called life. So what. i don't a cent about her sister lost. I had my share of loses, not just one.

And again she is an awful player. Can only win against really bad players.

Reviving this thread because she’s got a new stick. It’s not stenciled and the camera angles in her latest match didn’t really give many details as to what it is. It was red and look liked it could be one of the new Dunlop CX’s or Yonex VCore. She played well and striking the ball really clean.

It’s yonex vcore, just saw a pic and it’s 100 per cent yonex, 2018 paint Complete with the aero grooves on the throat shoulders as per the 2018 and 2021 models.

I’m really surprised she playing with a Yonex and even more so that she didn’t go with the newer version.
Probably she does not have a deal and was handed a bunch of frames that she like. Had she had a deal, the company will have them repainted in no time.

Surprised why?? Yonex is a massive player on the WTA Tour.
My statement wasn't meant in a negative way, I know Yonex is heavily used in the WTA . I'm a Yonex user myself and know first hand the quality of their racquets. Camila (at least to me) seems to beat at the pace of her own drum. She doesn't do a lot of interviews, she doesn't endorse any of the major brands, (she wears her mom's clothing line) and her last racquet also did not have a stencil. I'm happy to see a Yonex racquet in her hands, she can definitely wield it. I hope they give her a contract and make it official.

Yeah I don't doubt that, I hope she does sign with Yonex. They're a good company and I think a major endorsement would obviously be a good for her financially.

I'm glad she moved to Yonex and hopefully her game will improve as well. That's a racquet that suites her better than the last all white one.

Enlighten us. How would YOU know what suits her best? I wouldn't expect anyone else than Giorgi, her father/coach to be close enough to the subject to know what suits her best.

This whole discussion is nonsense. She very likely lost her endorsement from Babolat and painted over her old frames, until she found a new sponsor.

Or the brands don't sponsor her... These being said she is better dressed than any other player on the WTA. When you see the horrors the sponsored players have to wear you know that the money is earned.

and her last racquet also did not have a stencil.

Or Babolat stopped sponsoring her..
