Only just noticed that the poll does not allow for half inches. Very disappointed - I’m going to try the how tall are you thread. Hopefully they cater for my unusual height. Thank goodness for the Similar thread suggestions.

Since 2006 I have shrunk by a half inch. I have compensated by buying a longer racket.
Lol, but it does make sense by compensating w/ a longer racquet. Just don't swap it for a butterfly catcher [Gamma RZR Bubba 137 sq in].

Please report your growth since the start date of this thread in 2006.
Mine is zero.
Same, I've been this height since I was about 16. This poll is very curious though, in the United States roughly 6% of males are 6'2" or taller but in this poll 34.4% are. Seems a bit off...

I am almost 6 ft., therefore, am I tall, or not?
The day humanity is classified into 2 groups of people: tall people and short people, I would like to know which group I belong to.
Just that.

180cm, I'd rather be 190, except when I'm taking a flight, then I'd rather be 170cm. Economy seating is no fun.

I have grown one or two inches, but unfortunately around the waist. Never shrank in that dimension since. I compensated it buying new attire.
Height may catch the eye, but it's the circumference that truly fills the space.. After all, it's the girth of our achievements that leaves a lasting impact.

Would it be too impolite to impose the metric system by force in all places in the world where it’s not yet observed?
Enough is enough, there are still people who don’t show 28.35 grams of common sense.

I wonder how much taller the average human being will be in two or three centuries from now if the trend of intergenerational growth is maintained.

A study from the University of Oxford showed that average height in 410AD in England was 167cm under Roman occupation. Average height rose during this period due to improved water supply, sanitation and diet amongst other improvements. What did the Romans ever do for us …?

Average heights rose again following the Norman conquest in 1066, so there is a strong correlation to the Brits getting conquered, or at the least duffed up a bit, and a population growth spurt.

The study goes on to suggest that average height fell at the onset of the industrial revolution in the 1600’s with longer working hours and cramped working conditions factors. Also inequalities in society widened adversely impacting growth. It is safe to conclude that to much hard work stunts growth.

Average height in the UK is now only 178cm. In the next 2 centuries I’m going for 185cm, over here at least.
