HEAD G360 Extreme

Plays stiffer than its RA rating suggests. The hefty sw makes this racquet too powerful imo. The demo that I got was almost even balanced. Maneuverability suffers greatly against fast topspin shots and at net. PJ looks rather cheap in person. Almost feels like you're playing with a plastic frame.

Maybe that's why my doubles partner is playing so crappy these days. Airmailing balls on both FH and serve. Sending overheads and volleys past the baseline. He was having TE with his APD so he got this Extreme because he was told it was an APD with softer flex. He put X1 Biphase in it and can't keep a ball in the court. Definition of a rocket launcher.

It's pretty easy to control though. He probably just has questionable technique.

It basically is similar to an APD with softer flex, but it also has a tighter pattern. It's really great for baselining. If your partner wants to win matches with it, he needs to learn how to brush the ball low to high. Honestly, he should start by moonballing with heavy top just to learn the frame. The string selection is not helping, but give me that frame and Ill brush that ball deep over and over again until everyone watching slits their wrists with boredom. It's a very easy frame to play that style with. He should start there.

Yeah definitely no a frame for a multi full bed, a comfy poly control orientated string is the way to go and as mentioned technique!

Agreed. When I first got mine I strung it with my usual Wilson Sensation that I had in my Speed's for comfort and it was a tad powerful. Everything stayed hit! Switched to Head Lynx 17 now and much better control. Also swapped out the yellow grommets for the black Touch Extreme ones so it's a little more toned down.

X1 Biphase with an Extreme? Oh no no no...

Yeah sounds right. You got pics of the new cosmetics / grommet combo ?

There's about a billion things wrong with his technique but the biggest thing wrong with his game is incorrigibility. You have to accept you have a problem before you can seek to fix it. He probably needs a 12 step intervention program for crappy tennis players.

I think he's over enamored with the power of the frame so he likes to really bash balls with it and with his technique its a recipe for inconsistency. Our doubles sets are laughable because we have 3 guys playing consistent tennis with Phantom 93p, Wilson 6.1 and Wilson Ultra Tour frames and the one guy with the Extreme is the inconsistent mess.

Yeah thats pretty common in lower level tennis. You kind of have to grin and bear it and then hope you run across some better players and migrate to them.

Fortunately its just my Saturday morning good buddies group. Great guys to hang out with at the club for tennis and breakfast, but sometimes the tennis isn't always top end.

I play my "better players" tennis on Tuesday nights.

@Hankenstein or anyone else .. hows the chamber in the pallet? Any foam or other stuff or just hollow. Just getting silicone ready until the frame arrives.. planning on 10-12grams at this stage

Just hollow. My 360 extreme was exactly 300 grams sharp when I got it. Good QC! With leathergrip it was 309 grams. Plan to test 5 grams of silicone in the handle to make it more pro-stock feeling

I have 3 and 2 have swing weight at 325 and the other one is at 318...
I sort of like the 318 swing weight the best..as I tend to favor lower swing weight rackets..
But the 325's swing easy and you don't feel the the 325 swing weight..

That's a lot of variation, are they all the same MP model or lites as well ? I'm a Wilson user so I's accustomed to variations in specs lol

Its the paint scheme/color that gives this allusion..I have a instinct 360 and it does not seem bigger than 100..
The are the exact same size..

The lite arrived, prestrung with lynx I presume, specs are surprisingly spot on ! good job head (for once)

280gr
315 sw
61ra
34cm balance... time to get modding !

I have one coming too! I was a huge fan of the OG Graphene Extreme Lite. Great twist weight and flexy in a low static weight ready to mod!

Finally finished filling the chambers with silicone. Mis-judged the depth a little, came up 6 grams short. Was hoping to add 15 grams. I'll make up the rest at 7" mark and bottom of pallet anyway, along with shockshield grip and overgrips.
Waiting for silicone to dry, then i'll add the rest. The nails inside were annoying had to use fine pliers to get them out of the way. This has been the busiest chamber with nails I have seen in a while.
Got some tk57 pallets but won't put them on this project.

after playing with it over the weekend, my initial impression is that its a pure aero w a head speed grip. its also entirely arm-friendly thus far, strung up with a full bed of poly at 55. ive been using the ultra tour for months and this thing was like pressing the “easy” button.

the color is a bit bright for me and i dont like the head shape at all. results speak for themselves though, and this frame works

Nice! What poly did you end up stranging it with?
