I live in Sunnyvale, California i.e. the South bay area. The labour cost varies from shop to shop. Major chains like Spo*** Base**** charge 25$ for a turnaround time of 2 days. I believe Di*** sp***ing G**ds charge 15$, but the turnaround time is quite long. There are some other lesser known local shops that charge as low as 14$ for a 4hr turnaround time and 10$ for a 24 hr turnaround time.

Been told I'm really cheap. But dont string for that many people and got into it as a way to save my own stringing costs and ended up stringing for a few friends along the way

There's a local guy here who is part of Wilson's stringing team. He charges $20 with a 24hr turnaround. Keep in mind he has a full professional setup: Baiardo Machine, RDC, etc.

Everyone else charges $15. And often they can't guarantee a return time.

This is why I bought a machine for our team. I didn't want my players worrying about cost of stringing and wait times. I string for them for free with next day return.

In the old days... they would have called it "pin money". Any money I make from stringing just goes into a box.. used for all sorts of items at home. Of course to buy more string, grips and overgrips.

Like Steve Huff and dak95_00, I am still at $10. Although I do charge $13 for a full poly job. If there were more stringbreakers around here I would probably bump it up a little. But I don't get so busy that doing it becomes a nuisance.

I charge $10...a lot of people are baffled by how cheap it is. but I dont get enough business (from people not getting their racquets strung except once a year) to increase the price for the demand. There is a well known stringer in my area that charges $7. A lot of people go to him but most of those people dont care what string is in their racquet and usually just take what he gives them which is mostly Gamma products.

This is the same for the Parks and Rec department (City funded) ran tennis club where I am at. If you buy the $20 pack of Luxilon poly from them it is going to be $40 total minimum

Yikes, time to quit that job. Buy a stringing machine and teach yourself to string. You can charge $20 per job and with some practice 2 jobs per hour should be easily doable. Then you can thank me for increasing your hourly income by a factor of 7.

Way too little! Most places charge 10-15 just to expedite the job within a day or two. If I was dealing with the general public AND I did it in 24 hours I'd probably have to charge like 50 bucks to even bother with it.

If you live in the South bay, you can try Qui** Rack** Restring*** or Rack** Sup**y. I believe both of them charge less than 15$ and the turnaround time is a day or less.

in some countries the income level, in absolute terms, in USD / EUR is way below than in other countries

so, while 15 USD might be a bargain in New York, it might be a lot of money in Serbia or in Egypt
