2013 Wimbledon Final - Andy Murray def. Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4

Aside from being an historic moment for British tennis, if you look at the extent of Djokovic's achievements on grass since then this feels even more remarkable!

- Murray was the last man to beat Djokovic on Centre Court. Since then he has won 37 (maybe soon to be 38) straight matches there.
- Murray is the ONLY man to have beaten Djokovic in a Wimbledon Final.
- Murray is the ONLY man to be undefeated against Djokovic on grass with more than 1 match played on the surface.

If not for this match, Djokovic would be on the verge of winning an 8th Wimbledon title and be undefeated in Wimbledon finals (7-0 or 8-0 record).
In addition he would have won 3 straight Wimbledons at least twice (2013-2015, 2018-present). And potentially be looking for 5 in a row next season

A lot of people would have already proclaimed him as the best ever on this surface based purely on the statistics. And he could conceivably win more Wimbledons!

I have said here many times that this match is the Greatest Match Of All Time, and one of the reasons why I reckon Sir Andrew Barron Murray OBE OLY is the GOAT.
As a @Federer and Del Potro fan, I regret that one of them already retired while the other will be hanging his racket soon. I feel absolutely humbled watching them share the court in 2009. The quality of ballstriking, their movements, their anticipations, and their determination were out of this world. We may never witness a clay match as epic as their Roland-Garros SF where Federer did the unthinkable to come back from 1-2. Their US Open F is the Greatest US Open Match Of All Time in Men's Singles for me with true epick quality - not what passes for epeak due to appearing exciting - where @Federer and Del Potro hit the ball so clean that they didn't conveniently miss comfy backhands (and made a lot of unforced errors to display their attacking tennis).

Still, what is the Greatest Match Of All Time in Men's Singles? For me such a match has to be played at the most prestigious tennis event - the Wimbledon Championships. The resplendent grass at the Centre Court should be the biggest stage for the best players to show all of their skills and willpower. Also, it should be won by the player who has to perform under huge pressure with impossible psychologial burden - not only from his opponent but also from his national pride. And because of that nothing can be compared to the Gentlemen's Final of the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. The first ever Glaswegian and Scottish to win a Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles title, and the first British man in 77 years to do so - Sir Andrew Barron Murray OBE OLY even accomplished that in such a dominant way: straight-setting the World No.1 Novak Djokovic convincingly with his genius movements and shots selection. This match is another proof why Sir Andy is the GOAT: yes, he is the Glaswegian On Attacking Tennis, given how he dismantled the Serbian tennis player. He's also the only player to remain undefeated against the Serb on grass after at least two matches.

I believe that my fellow avid fans of British tennis @Mainad, @Larry Duff, and @TimHenmanATG would agree with me the Gentlemen's Final of the 2013 Wimbledon Championships is the Greatest Match Of All Time in Men's Singles. And in case you happen to hold a different opinion, I recommend you to revisit the following magnificent documentary by the Official Channel of the Wimbledon Championships.

I still don’t think Murray is a better grass player than Novak. Despite the 2-0 H2H. Nadal has a 3-0 H2H against Muzz on grass.

2019 F or 2018 SF are miles more important

Yep.

Had Nadal won that sf, he wouldn't have lost to Kandy in the final. Slam total right now would be 23-20...

Had Fed converted from 40-15... total would be 20-21-22 with Novak still being the third wheel...

22-21 almost certainly seals the deal for Nadal. Nadal.v Djokovic matches at W are not as significant as Federer v Djokovic matches.
Federer v djokovic 2012 was crucial in battle fot grass GOAT
