Hurkacz Racquet

Poly Tour Strike is much darker than what we see in the photos above. I have a reel here, dark grey, excellent string. In the photos, mains are light blue grey hue, only strings I know of that hue are Luxilons, Yonex doesn't make any strings of that colour.

There was a guy in his team with Solinco cap, just sayin

The color of his mains do appear within the realm of the various tour bites to me, but on the other hand I have seen people in the players box decked out in different brands than their player at times. For instance Goran wearing ST now, Becker with Puma while Djokovic was with Uniqlo, Mauresmo with Nike while Murray was with Under Armour, Riccardo Piatti in Lacoste while Sinner is in Nike. I can't think of a gear example at the moment.

Are we absolutely sure that he's not using a Vcore Pro 100. He's a big guy and that racquet looked large next to him.

Henri Kontinen plays with the Vcore Pro 100, says so on the throat. To me it looks noticably wider and lower bridge with more string outside the woven pattern. Also slightly more rounded in the head shape where the bridge meets the beam.

Looks like his coach was wearing a Solinco hat and shirt. Don’t know if that means anything about the player

thank you and amen - even though one could suppose there is some customization of his racquets, Yonex QC is so good do they even have pro stock racquets?
i was thinking the same. Even Chung did get ordinary oftheshelf racquets according to his stringer. why would it be any different with hurcas?
Only for the pro stock obsessed i suppose.

After Hewitt went to Yonex and settled on a mould, he was eventually given many subtle variations in lay up and consequently flex and flex locations to choose from, similar to a pro golfer experimenting with shafts.
an Hungarian player is really different from a famous Hewitt.

His frame is very high SW and weight. He used Head before and his racquet was Prestige heavily modified.

Yeah, it seems like it from the way and timing he swings it. Looks like it crushes the effortlessly.
I always like the way Pierre Hughes Herbert plays such effortless but powerful strokes as well and he plays the Duel G 330.

Interested in getting people's thoughts on this: there's a pro stock Hurkacz frame on the bay now and the specs are listed as follows:

Specs (strung)
Weight: 322g
Balance: 32.8 cm
Swingweight: 315
String pattern: 16x19
Head size: 97
Grip size: 4 1/4
Condition: New

If the racquet is real, it hasn't been customized to his specs...I don't really get why it would be strung and I'm a little surprised he'd use 4 1/4...

Thoughts?

is it possible theyre just taking the VCore Pro specs rather than actually speccing out his actual frame?

Wanted to see if anyone has said anything about this. I think they guy on the bay is selling fake frames. Either that or he’s not listing the specs correctly. I’m pretty sure the head racquet Hurkacz had listed on string forum was grip size 1/2. And why would yonex not just give him the vcore pro 330 that he started out with. The listing makes no sense

The racket being sold looks like the 2021 mold of the VCore Pro. As far as I know, Hurkacz uses either the 2017 or 2019 mold of the VCP97, so that's not the mold he uses. My theory is either this is just a retail mold of the VCP97, with the Hubi name at the throat, to be used as a promo racket, as I have seen a VCP97 with Stan's name in the throat as well. Or this could be a batch of rackets that were provided to Hurkacz with the new mold, to see if he would be willing to switch. It's possible he gets his rackets customized elsewhere, so Yonex does not modify or put on a leather grip for him.

Hurkacz's racket at the Davis Cup

You’re the goat for getting the specs. I love Hurkacz. Do you know the balance by any chance?
