What would you recommend for cross with Babalot VS 16 main?
The first priority what I'm looking for is comfort, then everything else.
Thanks

Other than the gut that Jim suggested, Alpha makes an underrated multi called Sphere. It's really easy on the arm. Laserfibre Supreme is nice too, as is Technifiber Multifeel.

best cross would be a copoly with good tension maintenance and nice feel (very subjective). As long as you don’t string too high, most copolys cross will feel comfortable

Hi @Dartagnan64, et al., I was wondering if you could advise me on the following: I strung one of my longbody Prince Equipe 95”s at 52.5lbs red Origin 1.30 mains and 49.5lbs black Velocity 1.30 crosses; if I want to put black VS Touch 1.30 in the mains this time around again with 1.30 Velocity crosses, how much if any should I up the tension on the gut mains - and crosses if necessary to avoid too great a difference in tension? My go to set ups in these racquets are red Volkl CT 1.25 mains and Yonex PT Air crosses at 45lbs/43lbs, or PT Air mains and Volkl PFII 1.30 crosses both at 48.5lbs. Day in and out I love hammering away with the low tension poly but looking for ‘comfort’ set ups as well despite the lack of durability. Thanks very much for any input. Cheers, JMac

Not Dartagnan, but let me say, you have a nice racket there. The Equipes were very underrated. Very comfortable. I never tried the longbodied ones, but my doubles partner for years used the regular, 27" long one. One of the guys I string for has the longer, OS model. They just don't make them like these any more.

Yep thanks, I'm still using them a couple of decades later lol!! Just can't give up on the help especially on serve, although the sw is getting harder to manage. It's getting harder and harder to find lb players' racquets - unless you're a pro, then they're everywhere. :cry:

Looks like Dartagnan is busy playing dubs with the other Musketeers; I enquired re gut tension as I know from his previous posts he has quite a bit of experience in this area and with Prince racs; sorry if I derailed.

Kirachbaum evolution is a great cross for gut, soft but not too soft and holds tension better than most. Nice and slippery as well!

ghostqire is another great choice, I would be happy with either in tournament.

poly tour fire is also on my list to try, have heard good things.

one last rec would be Tourna black zone, good luck

I use Yonex Poly Tour Pro with gut mains.

It’s comfortable and last a while.
I use the same setup on my Blade v7 18x20. Main VS touch at 54 and cross YPTP at 48. The best combo I found so far for my arm and performance.
I concur. While VS/Alu has the best performance, it is harsh on my arm. Soft crosses such as Cream do not have nearly the same control.
VS/YPTP is my TOP performance, arm friendly gut hybrid setup, and I've tried many, many, many.
