They have effectively cancelled each other out, meaning they have not dominated their era. Players in the past dominated their era convincingly but it's hard to make a case for these two. Sure they would have each won 17 but they let the other win 17 too. There is no standout. Laver was a standout. Borg was a standout. But these two are not. I think it's very lateral thinking and interesting to discuss.

So, at 17 apiece, Federer and Djokovic would have cancelled out each other and that would have meant neither was a standout, although Laver *was* a standout by winning *less* big titles than Rosewall? Got it. So, in a sense, Fed pulling ahead means that Djokovic now is a standout, is that it? The guy will be so happy to learn that, the more Fed wins, the more he, Novak, stands out. :D

If Djokovic reaches 17 slams...

If he...

All I can say is that I won't have been watching tennis a lot most likely, cause that implies one heck of a gap in generations (unless Djokovic finds the fabled fountain of youth)!

Been watching tennis much lately? :)

How come when we have these campfire conversations its never h2h2h?

W-L-L for example; including TW moral victories, Federer is: 1082-3-5.

Dunno about Kyrgios. There is a reason why he, Ivo and Roddick lead the h2h against Novak...
Lol k. Kyrgios is garbage

NK and Ivo can serbot their way to a winner over ANYONE if they're on fire. But their average level is so flawed they didn't even make it to the Djokovic matches where he'd have spanked them. He's always been there, they only face him when their serve is on fire cause 99% of the time they got dumped in an early round
