Who cares? If it's an effective style of play that reaps great awards( as it clearly has done in Evert and Djokovic's careers) why change a winning formula?

I sometimes pop corn for my husband and I when we are watching tennis in my sewing room. He likes his with butter and salt, while I eat mine plain. We typically don't convene until the second week of grand slam tournaments when the anticipated match-ups begin as long as it doesn't interrupt his golfing plans. Now when #Serena is playing late in the draw, he makes it a point of watching.

After all these years, we STILL #major in #majors. Praise be and hallelujah!

It was a nice start today with Fed playing on the first Sunday.

I major in any tournament that has the best players lining up against each other.

Did you see that tenacious young man approach #Roger on-court? I guess that is the second breach of security. The first was the day before on a practice court. I thought since #Monica they improved security measures.

The #kid wanted a selfie. That in itself is an embarrassment. Wouldn't at all be surprised if it wasn't one of his more fruitful fans from this forum.

We are only discussing tennis. As you kids get older and are exposed to more generational champions, you will look at tennis history differently. As the years pass, you will learn to love tennis more and find new favorites. The face of tennis will be changing dramatically in the next three to five years. Ask yourself. Im not looking forward to the lack of consistency in the up and comers and the age gap
were now explosive power tennis is mainly replaced with hacker marathon man tennis.

Unless changes are made muzza vs nole finals will be the norm.
Faster balls will make some players like Isner, berdych and Kyrgios
defeat some top players there and there like in the old days but
essentially we need faster courts and smaller racquets.

otherwise in 5 years tennis will be mainly nole-muzza-ferrer-coric pushermania styles
that is the taste we are getting today except for an old man Fed doing it differently

When Djokovic wins on clay it still counts. Only when Rafa wins, it doesn't count.



Rafa is too good on clay, it's his best surface, so he has an unfair advantage there.



But clay is arguably Nole's and Fed's worse surface, so their achievements there count a lot more.

AngieB, I didn't see. I only heard about it. I watched most of the match, and I did not see the incident happen. I do a lot of fast forwarding through the commentary, but usually I catch things like that. When did it happen?

As for this forum, I've seen enough crazy fans of every top player to give equal odds on some nut-job to do something really bad. Based on posts here I'd say that security is very important, and these tournaments are not taking it seriously.
