Is Federer distancing himself further from Nadal since FO 2014 ?

Rafa won his 14th major at FO 2014.

Since then, Fed has reached 3 more finals (Wimb 2014, 2015 and USO 2015), a WTF final and another year at No. 2. Even if he loses tomorrow, he would have reached 27 major finals (17-10) as compared to Rafa's 20 (14-6) .

Is Federer distancing himself further from Nadal even though he is not adding to his majors tally ?

Yes, he has increased the distance by boosting his numbers.

But only in a minor way.

3 Slams finals, another WTF final and a YE#2. All nice and boost Federer in the record books but only minor.


If he had of won any of the 3 slam finals it would had a huge impact and increased the distance considerably.

Not a thing, but don't you miss the days when one day's worth of topics on GPPD were 1 page and not 4? And good threads don't get overlooked? If this was a sidewalk, I'd basically say, try not to litter. Everybody wants to be a troll these days, and no one wants to talk tennis.

Does it really seem like I care about Nadal that much? It's been years since I've been butthurt over anything that happens on a tennis court, (2011 USO final to be precise )it's just a dumb question that didn't need a thread.

Yes, he has. He has won the Davis Cup for those who pretended it meant anything. He was won 3 more Masters to get within 3 Masters of Nadal. He has made 3 more Slam finals, which is pretty significant. He hasn't made giant strides, but to distance himself from someone who is 5 years younger is pretty impressive.
