Is the EXTREME MP the most comfortable PURE DRIVE alternative?

Hi

Is the EXTREME MP the most comfortable PURE DRIVE alternative? Easy Power and Spin....

Never gelled with the CLASH so far so that is out of the question.

Any other more arm safe options with the same characteristics?

Thanks

The Instinct is definitely an option. It doesn't get much love on here, but I see it used by quite a few people in person. I haven't hit the 360+ version but the previous one was OK and the new one should be more comfortable I would have thought.

I guess the only other consideration is that it is being replaced I think, so might not be a long term option

Op you mention a more comfortable option.
Pretty much every advice you are getting would be more comfortable. However string type and tension also needs to be a consideration..also your technique can influence your arm..

head instinct mp
prince textreme warrior 100
yonex ezone 100
yonex vcore 100
volkl v-cell 8

head extreme MP is worth a whirl, just note that it and the TT warrior 100 have more open patterns than the pure drive

Ghostwire 18g @ 48-50 lbs Full Bed. Possibly one of the softest co-poly there is. Cut it out in 1 month around 12 hours of play for me... no matter what.

I play with Ghostwire 19g at 50 lbs on the VCore 95 but want to hit more winners and work a little less on regular strokes.... That's why this issue... Just don't want to risk playing with a real pure drive.

Tried as Pure Drive (RPM Rough on the mains and Babolat Syn But on the crosses at maybe 46 lbs) and it was easy effortless power and felt very soft, swing was much calmer than with the VCore for same results. The VCore felt like a small hammer needing to be swung hard and opposite for PD.

Strong Eastern Grip. Heavy Top Spin. Medium Pace. Struggle to flatten ball due to spinny heavy low to high and wristy technique. Tendency to hit low on the face due to being too close to the ball.

Depends what you want. The Extreme will have more spin (think Pure Aero).

Of all the frames I’ve tried, the most comfortable Pure Drive style of racquet is the current version of Graphene 360+ Instinct MP. It is by far the most underrated racquet on the market. Very attractive price point, good power, good control thanks to the dynamic string pattern and very good dampening/comfort

I find the PD to be more comfortable than my ProKennex 7G, despite the internet telling me otherwise. I'm using Velocity MLT 16 at 54 lbs. Yes, it's a multi and it will break, but personally when I think multi at higher tension is going to be more arm friendly that even a soft poly.

All that said, if you're hitting the ball low a lot, maybe you should consider a 107?

I'm working on keeping more spacing between me and the ball.... My coach says another reason that I hit the ball low on face is I tend to hold on to the wrist flexion too much.... And that's the whole reason he had me try his Pure Drive 2018 (320g 5HL) vs my racket Vcore95 2018 (340g 9HL). Was able to whip it around easier without much effort and "let go".....

I love the Velocity MLT feel and softness... Just dont like strings sticking out of place. Second best Multifilament after Triax. Maybe you should try Triax on your PD if you haven't... Slightly crisper than Velocity put very similar power and better spin... And strings snap back better for a longer time (around 5 hr for me)

It's strange it never caught on at all

My first round of options

Beast 100 O3 - Ghostwire 19g at 52 lbs - 320g at 5.5HL with overgrip

Extreme 360+ MP - Hawk crossed with Velocity (around 50 lbs mains tension) demo from Express, Tennis - 320g at 4HL with overgrip

Instinct 360+ MP - Hawk crossed with Velocity (around 50 lbs mains tension) demo from Express, Tennis - 317g at 6HL with overgrip.

CONTROL RACQUET

Wilson Burn Team 100v 2.0 weighed to 320g at 5.5HL with OGSM 16g at 54 lbs Full Bed.

The Extreme and Beast seems the best in my hands and SW higher. The Instinct definitely felt lower SW but swung faster. Yet to hit any balls.

I'll update in a few days.

i quite like dunlop's dampening technology. i'd recommend trying the fx500 as a more comfortable pure drive

I have been using the 360+ Instinct as my main racket for a while... but always buying new stuff to try as the hunt is enjoyable to me.
I also really like the 360+ Speed..It's higher swing weight has it's advantages..

Pro Kennex Destiny. Like them better than Pure Drives, except for the early Swirly edition and the Soft Drive.

I do not beleive they have the same power as Pure Drive.... The layup is very different. Current technologies allow flexier feel despite more energy return compared to older tech I believe.

What do you mean by 'they'?
The Destiny, the Swirly or the Soft Drive or all of them?

Sorry to keep this going.. I'm a rack-a-holic and I am very curious what is the PD/Extreme stick that is currently on TW's Current Prokennex fleet?

I settled with the Prince Beast 100 O3 for now.

Have to really transfer weight correctly and stay down through the stroke to avoid hitting the ball out with drives, heavy topspin and slices. Volley technique as well needs to be great with any of these frames

Returned the Extreme MP and Instinct MP to Express Tennis.

Have you considered the Prince RipStick? Its CTS beam design provides comfort yet the frame is also designed for power like the PD.

I've tried loads of rackets including Extreme MP and Pure Drive. Those two are quite different in that the Extreme have a more open string pattern which for me results in less control. The two rackets that I would say is the closest to PD with better comfort is Head Instinct 360/36+ and Prince Beast 100.

Correct, the Extreme equates to the Pure Aero.
