Knee Tendinitis may keep Rafael Nadal from playing Davis Cup

it's not the first time he's had to take this part of the season off so i'm not overly worried. Infact when he came back from injury last time he came back more determined than even and became the beast he is today, so this might be another blessing in disguise, who knows. He's not the first player to get injured, and I hate that people immediately question his longevity as soon as he takes time out. Although I do hope it doesn't take too long to heal. He can't miss AO again. :(

Rest well rafa. I'd rather he skips DC alltogether.:(

It's disconcerning that he deals with the same issues every year at the same time. You can't go on very long like that. I would anticipate a much revised schedule from Nadal in 2009.

Federer's got to be thinking about the French Open now. This could be his chance.
Federer may even win the next 5 straight French Opens to match his 5 straight Wimbledons and 5 straight US Opens since it looks like Nadal may retire. ;)

BTW, when Nadal retires from pro tennis, will you also retire from this board?

Also in 2006 he didn't play the Australian Open because of knee problems, so this is serious for Nadal. Nadal could lose tons of points, and Federer could gain plenty by winning or just defending his semi.
I thought that was a foot problem?

After which, Nike started to make custom shoes with more cushioning for him.

Who knows, he's got billions of injuries in his lower body. You'd think he was a Grandma or something.

at least this time it is real injury and handed the match to Davydenko.

Davydenko probably was think during his injury break:
injury again. and run like a rabbit again after the break.
whatelse is new.

Could take a couple weeks to heal acco to some research done by Love Game on another recent thread.

He played a little over 90 matches this year. You in Shanghai? Gonna go watch?

Yeah I know he played 93 single games this year and that's really taxing especially with his style of play. Just wondered how many he played last year. No, unfortunately I'm not in Shanghai right now so cannot watch -__-

Nadal needs to slow it down and loosen up his schedule he's playing too many tournaments and by the time the major ones come up he's either fatigued or injured and the thing is that by 2009 it will be too late because he as a ton of points to defend

Oh you said last year. My bad.

His record last year was 70-15.
