Griekspoor beat him in last round of quallies. Kudla gets in as Lucky Loser and will be playing Greikspoor again today. I wonder how many times this has occurred?

Sinner and Lamasine did this near the beginning of Sinner's career. Can't remember the tournament, but LL Lamasine won the 1st round match iirc

Too many times for me to remember rematches and results. The one that stands out for me was at Rio’20 when Attila Balasz got blown away in his final qualifying match vs Gianluca Mager (0&2) only to get the LL and make it to a SF rematch with Mager, decided in a third set TB for a sweep by Mager. Balasz’ game had magically reappeared in 1R to beat former Rio champion Pablo Cuevas in straight sets. He worked a bit harder to beat Monteiro and Martinez, both in three sets. Mager played great that week to make his first and only final that week with huge upsets of Ruud and Thiem.

That's different, they played later in the tournament. I'm referring to back to back matches.

OK, you asked and James gave you a fairly recent example; here’s one a month earlier. Qualie/1R : Barca’19 Granollers defeated Jarry in qualies but lost 1R, both in 3 sets.

Some others from a few years ago:

Ramos Vinolas beat Haase M-C’15 in qualies and 1R (straight sets both)

ARV was on the receiving side when Cuevas beat him at Valencia’10 in qualies and 1R (straight sets both)

Thiemo de Bakker retired in qualies vs Steven Diez but got in as a LL and beat Diez 1R Atlanta’14. I’m betting that was heat exhaustion because TdB won 1R very easily (1&2).

Elias Ymer and Nishioka split IW’17 qualies and 1R with the Japanese lefty advancing to 2R.
