Spoke to Tim this week, ordered some string and they arrived 2 days later, so they are still open and filling orders. Their new Quantum machine is still on its way; I think it will be a couple of weeks until they are ready. I'm really looking forward to see them; Tim says they are a step above the prior machines. I own a MS 200 TT, which is one of the easiest machines and best machines I have ever used ($1,200 and under). We'll all have to be patient and see.

Why would anyone pre-order a stringer that we can't even see at this time. Do we even have a price for the new machine?

I agree. Who in his right mind would pre-order something that no one has seen yet and no specs to speak of?

If you do a search, there are specs for the quantums and prices, or you can call Tim and he will email them too you. I for one have pre-ordered. Based on the stringway machines, their 10 year warranty policy, and the features and customer service, and not to mention the savings. I also believe they have a limited time money back guarantee. So, yes I pre-ordered a quality machine from a quality place.

I've been on Laserfibre's web-page and didn't see any specs or price. Yes it is mentioned on the site but not even a drawing.

I own a Laserfibre MS200 FX and have no problem with the machine but that is the point. Stringway made that machine and I would assume holds a patent for the dropweight design.

I've been a customer of Laserfibre for over 6 years now, Tim has yet to disappointed me. His products do come out late, they are as they are advertised. Of course I would like to see the machine before I order one, but my son may be taking my MS200TT to college, so I may be in the market for a new machine. Now I have my eye on the Alpha Apex II, but I've got time to wait and see ...

I got a Quantum on hold for me too. I spend a crap load of time on the horn with LF getting my 200 tt fixed all the time. This is what I know from talking to them about getting rid of the 200 tt and opting for the new one.

LF lets people put a machine on hold. I don’t think they call it a pre-order. I do know you don’t pay a deposit or down payment or anything. They won’t even take credit card information until I confirm I want the machine when it’s ready. If you don’t like the way they look when they come out, cancel and walk away. The next dude in line gets moved up in the shipping order. I think they said I was like #47 on the list. Anybody out there ahead of me want to cancel, I’ll be glad to take your spot. LF letting people put a stringing machine on hold with no payment and no penalty for canceling or changing their mind is a reasonable proposition especially if you are still deciding or researching a machine.

The LF website says they’ll be available FALL -07. I don’t remember them ever showing prices for anything on their website when I got the 200 tt. Neither does Prince, Wilson, Gamma, Babolat and others. I want to see a whole one as much as anybody but we’re into fall for only 2 weeks so far. Chill a little. I even thought about a Alpha Revo but they don’t have machines either. They seem to always run out. Not too long ago Alpha messed with dudes leading them on for months and months for the cheap drop weight machines to come in, then they canceled it out of their line. It seems common to run out.

They say the tensioning thing is a complete new design and isn’t anything like the red tension thing on a Stringway. It sounds like it will be a lot faster and easier to use. I’m hoping it is more dependable than the Stringway because now mine is acting up as much as the foolish mounting breaks down. It’s my understanding LF is the one owning a patent or pending or something on the quantum drop weight tensioner, not Stringway.

I think it is sort of like a new movie or car model. I think I will wait to see what other people are saying about their new and costly stringing machine before I invest in one.

I think Tim is a really decent guy and I wish them the best with the new machine. I hope they do make some nice improvements.

In August, I was informed the release is due around mid-late september.
Obviously it didn't happen but I bet they will try their best to release before X-mas.

A recent search of the USPTO site yields no US Patents or US Patent applications from either Stringway or Laserfibre. Assuming I didn't miss one then the intellectual property contained in the Stringway machines is in the public domain . . . meaning anyone can copy at will in the US the Stringway designs. That's the law.

I apologize for my lack of clarity. Do a search on the TW website? this topic of pricing and models has already been brought up, and someone already posted the information here.

Call Tim, if you want him to send you an email with pricing and policies. I will look at my email to see if it I have a copy save there.
I talked with him today, and the first shipments of quantums with double action fixed clamps will start in about 10 days. He has quite a long pre-order list. I pre-ordered the beginning of Sept.

once again, Laserfibre drops the ball.

I placed an order for a new machine as a backup. Tim promised me and swore to me profusely that I will get mine by mid September, end of September at the very latest.

How can I trust that from a company that promises me something but doesn't deliver. At least with Babolat, they told me straight up that they wouldn't have a Star5 until this particular date and delivered to me on time.

Tim promises and promises but never delivers and then blames it on somebody else.

I put a LF MS200TT on hold about a year ago I think, and I never heard back from them. Do you think I am at the top of the list for one of the new ones? ;-P

There is still no word from LF about an upgrade to the LF MS-200 series' mounting system. I asked LF if they will consider making the Quantum's six-point system to fit the turntable of the MS-200.

I doubt Laserfibre is going to still carry the Stringway machines after their inventory runs out. With Alpha selling them, it would seem that Laserfibre would not be making any changes to the old Laserfibre machines but instead focusing on making their own.

Just to calm you guys down a little, I was over a Tim's house last week and saw the new design... it looks dynamite. Didn't know that there was any heavy anticipation over this stuff, so I didn't ask him about his launch date, but the thing exists!

We like to trade stories and thoughts when I stop in on him and he told me about the nightmare that his old factory pulled on him with his earlier gear. When he had modifications, etc. that he wanted to make, the factory just said, "No." Un-f#&@'in real... They also shipped to him on a completely BS schedule that kept a lot of us on hold, but it looks like that's in the past - those chuckleheads are history.

I'm a really low key stringer, but Tim has made the time to take good care of me and I'm happy to use his stuff and share it with my pals. I consider him to be one of the "good guys" among us and I know for a fact that he got jerked around by his manufacturer, but those waiting issues should now be resolved. Anyone who's ready to see a nice new machine, well... here it comes. I've seen it and hell yeah I want one!

Pete,

You and I discussed this before and every time I checked with LF about those questions I got an answer back in hours. If you sent a question 2 weeks ago, try resending maybe was overlooked. Because of the pictures you posted, I wanted to do the same things and checked with them. They'll know what you are talking about if you haven't talked to LF about it.

Talked to Tim yesterday, he said that the first batch of "Quantum" stringers were spoken for and I would be on the Dec. list. Sounded like the first run would be shipping soon, so for those that preordered, be looking for a e-mail!

He also said that he would be getting some pictures posted on the web site as soon as the new units arrived.
