I have to say that I really love Big Spin full bed!
It offers a unique "crispy, spiny, thin and light" feel and unlike other strings, it doesn't need a break-in period, it plays well from the first stroke. Of course, the edges get less sharp after a while, but I didn't recognize such a big change in playability character. Probably because I don't hit as hard as
@Injured Again and his friends.
It broke after 10 hours, which is quite normal for a poly.
As I wrote above, I only tried some hybrid combos with Big Spin mains because the guy who strings my racquets hated to string Big Spin full bed (the edges are so sharp and the string twists all the time…).
The best two combos were “Big Twist” and “Big Alpha” (see my posting #88).
At the first outing, Big Twist was too low-powered, so I was permanently pushed into a defensive position. Three days later, I gave this combo a second chance, and I noticed that it had softened up and played really well.
Comparing Big Spin full bed to Big Twist:
With Big Twist, you gain a bit of control and stability against hard strokes and incoming spin, but you lose a bit of the unique feel described above.
If you use the combo, I would suggest stringing the Magic Twist crosses at least 3 lbs. lower than the Big Spin mains.
