Nope. Novak will still have won 8 of 9. It's about the nine masters slots, Novak has 8 of them.
In that case Fed has won 8 of 9 too, and only needs Monte Carlo to finish the collection.

Nadal lost money for his last appearance in Queens the tax situation is really bad in the UK.
Yh Novak earned $48M this year and Nadal earned $32m. Novak has outearned Nadal by a nice margin. And deservedly so finally.Nadal is only second to Federer in endorsements! He and Federer are very popular in the EU and around the world too! So I would not think that Rafa would be thinking of tournament money since that is much less then endorsements money! Nole is third or maybe second now in endorsement money since he is number one on the tour! Rafa maybe third now!
I also understand where he is coming from. But he comes off as salty and unlikableLook at it from his and his family's point of view........part of the families legacy was the park........he has always fought against any big time development in Miami-Dade (the Matheson family is one of the founding families that helped build Miami).
He's trying to prevent the loss of more parkland for what......a two week event that he feels Miami doesn't really need......I personally think he is wrong but understand what he is trying todo.
just need a big time sponsorIf It is on the way out. They should make Queens/Halle MS1000....yearly rotation just like Montreal/Toronto.
Forgive my European bias, but America's got enough yo![]()

Yeah and combined with Canada, that makes 4 Master 1000 Series for North America. That seems like quite a bit. When you consider there's 4 in Europe and 1 in Asia.
you need to take a spring break trip there...Miami is a city of scum anyway, serial killers all over the joint.

Just move those couple of European clay tournaments from July into the current time slot of Miami Masters. That way the clay season would be continuous. We should get rid of these ATP tour 2nd tier tournament slots anyway. No top players go play clay tennis during that time of the year, so these kinds of tournaments should NOT be anything more but Challenger or Futures tournaments.Dominic Thiem doesn't approuve.
If Miami lose the status, does a new master have to take a 2 week slot? coz if a new master play in 1 week, that will leave IW as the only master that play 2 week with largest draw compare with others.
Stearns maintains that agreement is no longer valid because the county has failed to provide an updated home for the yearly event.
In its brief to the Third DCA, Miami-Dade wrote that the tournament “abandoned” the process of trying to amend the master plan “in favor of this wasteful and unmeritorious litigation.”
Forgive my American bias, but I would like to keep that Masters/Premier tourney here in the U.S.
Africa does need a tournament.
Outdoors in April might work there, but what venue in which city? Houston hosted the Masters outdoors in a part of the calendar that wasn't ideal weather. I'm not sure if "The Furniture King" behind that experience is even active in tennis anymore. How about Texas?
This works well with your avatar.Move it to my back garden. That has grass. I can't afford any prize money, but there will be bacon sandwiches.
Miami used to be one of my favourite events to watch in the 1990s and early 2000s. But since around 2006 the tournament seems to have become less and less interesting, the finals have been incredibly dull. The South Americans did well for a while which added a great atmosphere, and the 2000 final between Sampras and Kuerten is one of the all time great Masters finals.
