Miami TV Schedule, Livestreams, Questions, and Complaints

This is disgraceful. Fed/Rod not being televised. I sent a nasty letter to MSG+, who has taken over FSN's broadcast.

Both MSG and MSG+ are showing the same hockey game.

Are they going to be replaying it on the Tennis Channel by any chance? They aired Monday's & Tuesday's matches on there even though their schedule said otherwise.

The tennis channel purchased the rights to show one match for those four days. That's it.

I don't know where else to put this... looks like even the players are upset with Fox Sports because of the lack of coverage, in Miami itself.

http://tennis.com/news/ticker.aspx

Coverage of Miami on Fox Sports Net has proven frustrating for US viewers, thanks to the channel's limited and rigid broadcasting windows as well as an affiliate-distributed organization that has created inconsistency in the timing and amount of coverage available from area to area.

Even players competing in Miami have frequently been unable to watch the tennis unless they're on the tournament grounds.

Jankovic will go into the final against Serena Williams without having seen how Williams played in her three-set semifinal against Kuznetsova on Thursday afternoon. "For some reason, in my hotel, they don't show Fox Sports or something," Jankovic told reporters after winning her own semifinal match later in the evening.

Kuznetsova, too, went into her encounter against Williams without watching her unexpected 6-2, 6-0 destruction of top seed Henin in the previous round. "I didn't see anything," said Kuznetsova, who had to settle for reality TV a more contrived kind. "I guess she played unbelievable, but I was in my hotel watching Next Top Model or whatever I was watching. I was not watching any of tennis. It was not on TV. I wanted to watch. It was interesting.
"

Roddick's upset of Federer was tape-delayed till 10:00 pm because of a baseball game, and Nadal went online to track the match from his hotel on Thursday evening. "I followed the match on the internet before going for dinner," he wrote in his blog for TENNIS.com this week.

FSN apologizes for leaving tennis
Fox Sports Network apologized to viewers in its five-state Southwest region Friday for switching away from the final games of a Thursday night tennis match between Andy Roddick and Roger Federer at the Sony Ericcson Open in Miami.

Roddick was leading 4-3 in the third set when FSN Southwest switched to the scheduled Southwest Outdoors Report at 8 p.m., followed by a Dallas Stars pregame show at 8:30 p.m. Roddick held on to win the set and match 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-3.

The match aired in its entirety in other FSN regions, the network said.

"We sincerely apologize to tennis fans," an FSN spokesman said. "It was a mistake to leave the match before its conclusion. We value our viewers and appreciate their loyalty to FSN. We are reviewing these circumstances, as well as our programming policies, to ensure this never happens again."

LOL, oh my god, I'm gonna throw the damn remote threw the TV!!! It is so much easier in the fall when I'm a football fan and during that time the US Open has decent coverage with some HD matches. I guess I take for granted the massive amount of football coverage here and when switching gears I get very disappointed throughout the year.

And hey lets forget about tennis until the French, because Americans have short attention spans and don't want to see clay courters grinding in Europe.

And if Wimbledon isn't done in HD this year, I'm gonna go watch the bloody thing in person in 2009!

So much for building a tennis fan base in the U.S. Add to that throwing money at developing juniors instead of helping re-surface courts for worker-bee tennis fanatics like myself, and we are truly farked.
