Nadal Clay Court Season prediction

Here are my Wishful Thoughts of how Rafa's 2013 will be :

Monte Carlo : Champion, by beating Murray and Djoker
Barcelona : Skips to allow friends to win some
Madrid : Champion, by beating Federer and Djoker
Rome : Champion, by beating Ferrer and Djoker
FO : Champion, by beating all crumbs
Halle : Champion, beats Federer and Raonic
Wimbledon : Champion
Canadian Open: Champion
Cincinnati : Loses in the QF
USO : Champion

I'm not greedy. This should be enough for his 2013..........

I think Rafa is 95 % certain to win Monte Carlo.
99 % certain to win Barcelona
50 % certain to win Madrid ( he won only twice out of four times there on clay)
90% certain to win Rome
85% certain to win RG

I cringe when I see Nadal win major tournaments. I just can't escape the feeling that he is going to end up being another Barry Bonds/Lance Armstrong/Marion Jones.

^^^Haha, I know it's all just wishful thinking on my part, but hey THIS fan has been hungry for almost 8 months for a win. Both of your guys have dominated the Big tournaments last year, now it's time to share, lol

Now that he has officially pulled out of Miami-Sony and lost his chance to get a playstation 4, what is his outlook for the Clay Season.

Monte Carlo
Rome
Madrid
Roland Garros

I could see him losing monte carlo as a surprise this year, breaking that crazy long streak. I don't think it's definitely in the bag.

I expect him do better than 2015.

How time flies when you're having fun.

Anyway, I hope he does better this year than he did last year. Would love to see him sweep the clay swing one last time (I know I've been wishing Rafa to do a clay sweep just one more time since 2010).

Realistically though (best case scenario):
MC: QF
Madrid: 4R
Rome: SF
RG: QF, maybe SF if a good draw

Nadal winning the FO would be the coolest thing since the 2013 USO.
Wouldn't rule him out, there was enough in Indian wells to show he is a lot better than last year and even in Miami before he got sick he was crushing that guy.

If nadal got one masters 1000 is confidence would go through the roof. If he beat Djokovic before the French open, then as long as nadal was fit, it's pretty much certain he would win French open.

Given nadal should have won first set in Indian wells but his fh let him down, I do expect in a month that FH to be a lot more solid and given the tour now back on clay, on the basis of Indian wells I don't actually see Djokovic beating nadal in that form over best of five sets. Ultimately over last 4 years nadal has won 4 best of 5 set matches against Djokovic and career wise is 9-4 up, in the Majors nadal has an advantage if he is playing close to his best level.

Also nadal will have 0 pressure this year at RG! He loves having no pressure.

Whose position would u be rather in? Nadal in current state but having nothing to achieve, or Djokovic with no French opens and all the expectation?

Djokovic in my prime with no competition ;)

Clay comeback this year... It's now or never for Nadal... he MUST win at least one of the big clay titles pre Roland Garros. The clock is ticking and 30 is right around the corner, and unfortunately the pressure is not off his shoulders. Everyone will be anxious to see what he can do. In a sense, pressure has never been greater. El Matador will rise to the occasion. My predictions:

MC - Win
Madrid - Semis
Rome - Win
RG - Win

The guy lost to Verdasco, Thiem, Cuevas and Dzumhur this year (Thiem, Cueavs on clay and to Dzumhur on his favourite HC). I know its one of his last chances to get some titles on clay, but unless some miracle (ped) happens he is not getting past SF in either of the big tournaments.

Time to bump this thread... now that Nadal claimed MC last week, how do you see the rest of the clay season shaping up??

Wow, are you serious!? Those seem kind of high to me. This still isn't the Nadal of even 2011-2013, let alone 2008 or 2010 on clay.

Djokovic and Nadal together have about an 85 percent chance of winning RG haha :)

It's generally hard(er) to make a long term prediction on clay courts.

Only exception in entire history has been Nadal for 10 years and Borg for 6 years, pretty much.
