I think....the main accusation is him taking injury timeouts and then winning... rather than retiring early? He was mocked for his fitness early but this sure isn't the narrative recently.

Anyway, I always give him the benefit of the doubt regarding MTOs and also don't really mind if people retire or withdraw to prevent further injury.

Difference between retirements and walkovers.

Also a difference in retiring when the match is far from over or you’re ahead, vs. retiring when you’ve basically already lost and it appears as if you’re taking credit away from your opponent.

Novak hasn’t done that last one much after 2011, I only recall that 2019 USO match against Wawrinka.

Yeah because Djokovic does it a lot more than Wawrinka. Most people can even predict now when he takes toilet breaks. I predicted he would take one after losing 3rd set in Wimbledon Final and I was correct.

Of course, doesn't take in to consideration that Wawrinka plays less matches than Djokovic.
I can recall IW match when Wawrinka drive Anderson crazy after TB/MTO+multiple massages between the games. But Wawrinka is good guy , beat his fav how many times and ofc beat Novak in Slams. Everything is forgiven

Nadal's are not overlooked. If you think they are then you must be a victim of the exact same overlooking you are accusing others of. Agassi's and Roddick's are likely overlooked because they took place across the course of long careers, while Novak's all came in a period of a few years.

Djokovic is more popular than Wawrinka = More people are watching his matches = More people watch him often take toilet breaks = More people will criticise him than Wawrinka.

Same reason people get upset when the next gen blow it against him. Hope that he won't win. Then usually it is dashed in the end.

I found one video from certain Romanian guy that deals with UK press stone throwing at Novak after he lost, but I won't make whole new thread about it bcs this guy couldn't even remember Murray's name in that video

The fact that people try to equate walkovers to retirements is a joke. It’s one thing to pull out of a tournament after you’ve finished a match in which you got injured in. It’s an entirely different ball game to stop mid match. Walkovers also don’t count as losses so UTS grouping them together is actually nonsensical.

Lastly, the only member of the Big 3 to be DQ is Joker and he has 13 retirements bs Rawducks 11.
