need a soft syn gut replacement for Babolan n.vy 17g

Hi all,

Many of my players are having good results with Babolat n.vy 17g in the crosses with co-poly mains. But my stash of n.vy is running low, and the product is discontinued so I cannot order more. :(

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive syn gut that is on the softer side? Would Gosen OG-Sheep Micro or Gamma Syn Gut be comparable? I can get those both relatively cheap. Dunlop S-Gut with Dyna-Tec is another string I have been looking at.

Thank you in advance for any replies. Hope everyone's tennis game is going well.

I recommend Solinco Pro Stacked. Unfortunately it doesn't come in 1.25, but 1.20 and 1.30 are very nice, low friction strings. I'm also down to my last 1/2 set of N.vy 1.26.

The Gosen OG-Sheep micro 16 syn gut is my favorite syn gut cross. Decent wear and mains slide OK on it.
I am not as fond of the Dunlop syn gut.

Forten Sweet is maybe the softest syn. gut I've ever sampled - soft enough to work as an affordable alternative to some multifibers. The 17 ga. version of that string isn't super durable, so the 16 ga. option could be a better cross.

My favorite affordable syn. gut these days is Kirschbaum's standard syn. gut (not premium), which I buy in reels. I use this string in full beds in my own racquets all the time. It's perhaps mildly softer than Gosen OGSM, but I love using the 16 ga. Gosen as a cross for customers who want poly hybrids. The 17 ga. Gosen might be one to try for your needs.

Would not say the Spiral Tech is the same as N.vy; would say that it is a decent or excellent replacement. Only way is to trial a couple of packs and determine it yourself [which I did.]

Tecnifibre synthetic gut is pretty soft and cheap
forten.sweet is nice
gosen is crisper than tec.or forten, but good for its price
Prince.syn.gut is a tad bit softer than gamma syn.gut imo
wilson.extreme (synt.gut) is also soft, byt prob. More expensive than the rest
