need Stringing machine help!!!!!!

Recently i have been interested in a tennis stringing machine. I am new to the stringing machine world in tennis although i have been playing for a while. I am looking for the best available machine you guys may know of or like within the price range of $90-$250 from a RELIABLE web site that would preferably come with a warranty of any type but isn't neccessary. I would only be stringing about 15-20 racquets per year and it wouldn't see an extensive amount of use. Thank you all for your help.

Decisive - I like that! ;) Good luck, th4...you're going to love the convenience of having a fresh string job whenever you choose.

Okay I think I've narrowed it down to the silent partner swing. Thanks to you both very much for your help.

IMHO you just made a bad choice I hope you have not ordered it yet. The SP Swing has very little room under the racket for you to work. A stringer like the X-2 has a lot more clearance because of the mounting posts. You will be able to string a racket much easier and faster if you have more access to the strings. But I am sure they're both fine stringers.

So which is it? lol

I've never strung with an X-2, Klippermate or any portable machine for that matter, so I won't discount your words about the physical aspect of stringing on one versus the other. What I do know, th4, is if you've already ordered the the Swing you'll be fine.

º You currently don't have a stringer
º Purchasing a functional stringer of ANY kind gives you a convenience you previously didn't have
º You'll spend less money in materials/transportation than you did before
º You have the option/potential to string for a few friends to make a little cash
º The Swing (if that what you end up with) will have paid for itself in a few months time

yes i have not ordered yet and am still deciding between silent partner swing, eagnas hawk 26 which is similar to the silent partner but i am just worried about the reliability of eagnas as i have heard not to great of things about it before regarding the warranty policy etc. Also i am considering a klippermate. Do you guys know if Eagnas is a reliable company and what your thoughts are because they do sell similar products to others large companies products for a fraction of the price.

I bought the SP Swing because of the overwhelming positive comments about it on this site, so I am sure most people have had positive experiences with it. The amount of space under the racket would only be a issue if you had really HUGE hands. You can read the online users manual here: http://www.sptennis.com/manuals/Swing.pdf

I've heard one other person say the same thing, but honestly, I don't know where it comes from.

I owned an SP Swing for over a year and was very happy with it the whole time. I only sold to move up to an upright crank.

I never had any issues with there not being enough clearance. Strung lots of different types of racquets with it too.

I am sure you will be happy with the Swing. My first string had little room undere the racket to work on the stings and I did not know the difference until I moved up.

yeah i have considered the string pal although i am not completely sure what advantage the silent partner will give me over these two point mounting systems as the silent partner swing is a 6 point. I think it will help on ease of use but not completely sure like i said. i don't have much info. on the string pal though so that isn't a top contender it seems much similar to the klippermate and gamma x2

The "6 point" mount system on the Swing is a stretch. It's really a 2 point, but it has some extra supports on either side. It's questionable calling this 6 point.

But the mount system is fine and relatively easy to you.

I have only used Silent Partner flying clamps. I have no experience with clamps from other brands. But I found them to be fine.

And I've heard others on the boards claim that SP makes pretty good clamps.

That's really all I have to offer though, since the Swing is the only drop-weight I've ever used.

okay have you had any problems with it and would you get a different drop weight instead of it for around the same price or no

Me, personally, I didn't have any problems with it once I got the hang of using it.

Without having any other to compare to, I can't really say that I'd go for something different.

Fixed clamps would have been nice, but nothing in that price range really has them, so that's a moot point.

well i guess change of mind 180 degrees from sp swing. I just ordered gamma x-2 saturday and cannot wait for it to come in this friday. The fact that it was $50 less than the sp swing and comes with free shipping and free string was a nice touch also. ( something the swing did not have)
